You know camping and hiking can be a very enjoyable experience for most of us. Hi I'm
Captain Joe bruni and what I want to talk about is one of the things that can go wrong
in cause some troubled problems for us when in the woods, wilderness during hiking and
walking the Nation's trails. Called the impacted bowel. Impacted bowels can cause many problems
for us throughout our experience in the woods. One of the ways to avoid fecal impaction is
basically to drink lots of water, and take in lots of fiber while hiking. Foods that
are high in fiber, like fruits and vegetables, brans, natural rice, beans and things along
those lines, can be a great aid in keeping our fiber levels high and water can help keep
us flushed through. We want to pay close attention to our defecation movements everyday. How
often we defecate, try to eat regularly which will accordingly make our defecation happen
at regular intervals. Pay close attention because some people have the philosophy that
they do not want to defecate while on a trail or in the wilderness due to embarrassment
or just plain don't want to be out there in the woods taking that kind of chance. Even
if you don't feel the urge to defecate on a daily basis when in the wilderness or hiking,
you should make every effort to try to defecate everyday while in the woods. I'm Captain Joe
Bruni stay safe and we'll see you out there.
