Hi. I’m Lori Slavin. I’m an associate professor of science and co-director of the
Office of Outcomes Assessment at Johnson County Community College. Our office provides a number
of avenues for support for faculty. We can help you construct your rubric, we can help
you analyze your data, or we can help you find that perfect assessment tool that you
need to assess the student learning outcomes of JCCC. We offer a number of outreach activities
also. You can come to our monthly brown bag brownie breaks where we offer a variety of
topics on assessment or look for our future award-winning newsletter called Spotlight
on Assessment, where we continue to highlight successful assessment initiatives by our faculty.
Also, you can join an Assessment Council member for our assessment coffee breaks held every
month at Java Jazz. We’ll even spring for your favorite cup of coffee. And I’ve saved
the best part for last. We offer outcomes assessment mini-grants, up to $500, to help
you jump-start your assessment project. So stop by the office anytime, and we’ll be
glad to help you with your assessment initiative.
