My name is Anis Chouchene.
We felt that a change would come
but we had no idea how it would look like.
We were afraid
of outbursts and disorder.
So we stayed home, closed all doors and windows.
Fear was ruling the house.
I thought about my children and the fact that I could take a few days
would we have enough to eat for the children
and will we be able to open the windows to breathe.
We did not really participate.
Only with the heart.
Even in Tunisia
not everybody understood what happened
and it went over to the neighbouring countries
I would have preferred
to see the revolution only in Tunisia
to see the results of the changes, of the revolution.
Afterwards all other countries
would have had the time to learn
from what happened for their own revolution.
A revolution fitting the country’s context.
Because different things happened.
Our president took a plane
in other countries it was bloodier.
There were more deaths than in Tunisia.
