[Ep 2 of 6] Chrome Plugins -- Adblock Hey everybody. It's Deepak here from Get paid
to Tutor.com. Welcome back to Productivity Ninja it's Episode 2. I'm looking
at what I use for my Chrome Plugins and if you want to skip straight ahead as
I said there's a cool little box there, go ahead and see that URL, getpaidtotutor.com/Productivityninja,
and you can see exactly how I go about using my computer.
Anyway, today we're going to talk about something that, I guess a bunch of you
perhaps already do use, it's quite popular, but they still in my view more people that
could be using it, it's called 'Adblock'. This is Adblock and what it does is... it's
quite self explanatory, it blocks ads. So basically
it's a free Chrome Plugin. As you can see, today I don't know how long
I've actually had it perhaps some 6 months to a year, probably around a year or
so. I have had, 125,665 ads in total I believed that they've blocked, so I've got
125,000 ads that they've blocked by using Adblock. It's super, you can pause it, you
can block a specific ad on a page , you can also not run on certain pages when you want
to see the advert. So if you're in the advertising industry then Adblock is probably
not what you want to focus, when it helps you in your searches. And if you're
advertiser I guess Adblock is kind not to be
like for the rest of us in those two specific markets that relates to kind of pay ads,
and pop ups and stuff like that. There's even some other options that you can
just ask to see some kinds of ads. Custom filter is recommended. I've never gone
into this section here, and for you guys you donate $35 etc. You can donate as
much as you want to, to the creator of Adblock. As you can see, you can what you
can afford. I obviously really like that, so
I do recommend... I think I've donated $20 some time ago. I do recommend maybe
—feel free to make a donation, and if you don't that's also okay.
Let me show the CNet review of Adblock. It get's an outstanding rating from the
CNet editors which is always good. It got an average rating of 4 out of 5—and look
what it says, 'Oh, sweet, sweet, Adblock, . We love you in Firefox and Adblock for
Chrome is just as wonderful, it's free. Who knew that one little browser add-on can
make the surfing so much more enjoyable.' Take a moment just to quickly read that,
pull this video, obviously direct you to the URL, it's got super ratings, and it really,
really is very good. Let me give you an example of Adblock in action.
This is my Facebook and --Fatima Toure just got married as you can see—this
currently told me that there's four ads on this page has been blocked. And if I ask
it to don't run on this net, I pose that block, so now add any address thing, blocked.
What you want to pay attention to is say you have old things that you may like,
pay attention to this section here that moves with us as we scroll. If I refresh the
page, here's at least one advert, if I unpause it, it's telling me now it's blocking
4 ads. Let's try again... so there you go, that's your figure, that sponsored ad had
just disappeared again, and it updated that number. So let's pose Adblock again so
that we can find this here to be sure, there's the sponsored advert, it is definitely
blocking and there's probably another one sneaking around, I didn't even notice.
It gets rid of annoying pop ups from—if you ever watched that videos on YouTube—it
will stop and pop up in the beginning, it does a whole ton of really, really cool
stuff. So Adblock people I do recommend it. It's
a free Chrome Plugin. You can read the reviews here as well. Superb Adblock. As I
said If you want see how I use my computer day to day and kind of *** around
my desktop and try and get things done, then go to this link just here on this
corner. See you guys.
