>> John Hanlon: The most important job is really
the architectural design of the environment.
IT today has
a huge challenge,
because they have their legacy environment
and they’ve got to have their storage administrators, server administrators
and networking administrators.
As they move to this converged marketplace or cloud marketplace,
they need to transform from,
what I would call,
individual contributors to more looking at the entire fabric.
If you look at compute, storage, network legacy that’s separate;
going forward today that’s really one skill set
and we’ve consolidated and call that the cloud architect as an example.
People will not be consuming technology as individual silos going forward.
They will be consuming it as an appliance
and the appliance will consist of storage, server and networking.
It’s really the role of the cloud architect to design that environment
to give the infrastructure that flexibility.
That’s really how I see the responsibility of the cloud architect
to provide that agility and flexibility to the end user
and to the business.
