Hello! Today I'm going to show you a homemade
Arca-Swiss style quick release plate.
This is what the finished product will look like. (not the lens, the plate).
First I measured the plate and made a quick drawing.
not good looking at all
But, you can download a high quality drawing with instructions.
Link in the description
First I cut the two pieces of metal.
Then I grinded the two long edges to a 45° angle
Remember always let the angle grinder stop before you put it down
Now time for some drilling. First I drilled the small ¼" hole
Or in metric terms approximately 6,5mm
And then time to drill the big 20mm hole.
When the holes were drilled I put the two pieces of metal together in a vice,
and welded them together.
Be careful, this is hot!
I mounted the plate on my Tamron 70-200 f2,8,
and tighten the screw.
If you want you can paint it in any colour you want,
but I like the colour of metal.
Maybe I polish it later
And thats all. Thanks for watching.
