- [Voiceover] Oh my God. I might die.
(cars racing loudly)
- That sounds like a gunshot.
- That doesn't sound like it's supposed to happen.
(upbeat rock music)
(cars racing)
- It's Ladylike and today we're going drifting.
- Today we're doing DIY makeup.
- [Voiceover] No, we're not.
- We're gonna go drifting.
- Wait, what?
What's drifting?
- Like in Fast and the Furious.
- They go sideways and stuff.
- Like racing?
- I'm just here, Chantel said let's go and I'm going.
- I think drifting is like hard to control the car, right?
- Like Fast and the Furious.
- It skids.
- Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, Tyrese.
You forgot about Tyrese, didn't ya?
- So instead of, like, slowing and turning you just
- Drifting
- Mom confession time.
I am actually pretty scared to do this
but since I'm making Freddie and Sophia do it with me,
I am going to put on a strong face
and hold it down for the children.
- It would be cool if my mom doesn't see this, though.
- Freddie and Sophia don't really know what's happening,
but we're doing it.
(cars racing)
- We are here today in Long Beach at the Grand Prix
for Formula Drift doing ride alongs.
- Yeah, we thought we were ready, but we are not. I am not.
- I'm scared.
- [Voiceover] Formula Drift car essentially,
it's a stock car they just buy from a dealership
and it's modified to be a race car.
We are the highest horse power stock body cars in the world.
We have no limitations on what type of engines you can use
and so we range anywhere from a four-cylinder
to a 12-cylinder, anywhere from 800 to 1200 horsepower.
- We're gonna die today.
Today's the day.
(cars racing)
- All the smoke.
Just watching the cars be like 10 centimeters away
from hitting the side of the wall is just terri like,
what is this, where are we?
- Saw a guy's bumper fall off and he just kept on going
so I'm pretty scared for that.
- [Voiceover] Cause every run is action packed,
our judges ask drivers to do really intense things
like get us close to a certain part of the track
which means getting close to a concrete barrier.
- We went over to that track
and it looks like they're going about 275 miles per hour.
- [Voiceover] Yeah, not close to 80.
- I mean all the smoke, all the popping, like,
everything is just very overwhelming.
- The popping.
- I'm sweating.
- The sound. The gunshot sound. Why?
- It's so unsettling.
- You know, woman up.
Grab life, grab life by the ovaries.
(grunting noise)
(car noise)
- [Voiceover] I'm texting Tyler to pray for me.
- Yes, of course I'm nervous.
- I am dreading getting in that car.
This is, like, getting super real now
and I don't know what to do.
(music with increasing intensity)
(cars racing)
(upbeat suspenseful music)
(cars racing)
(screaming)
(cars racing)
(upbeat suspenseful music)
- [Voiceover] Tire smoke is like, in my eyes.
I didn't know what was gonna
- I get how you would be addicted to this, though.
Yeah, it's like (mumbles)
It's a lot. It's a lot.
Man what a rush.
- I feel so disoriented. My body's shaking. I don't know.
- I low key wanna do that again. That was so fun.
- I would never choose to do this just like on my own
so I think it's cool that like we got this opportunity
to just like be in this space in a new environment
and actually ride along with professionals,
like, that was crazy.
- It did feel a little bit like Disney Land,
which I thought it might.
But, I mean, Disney Land on crack, but it was great.
- That was the biggest adrenaline rush
I might have ever had in my life.
- After my body has calmed down
and I've had a chance to reflect on the recent activities,
I'm really happy that we did this.
I feel really kind of like, empowered.
- I also really liked that a lot of the drivers
seemed on the older side,
so it makes me think that like
after I've like had a few kids, you know like,
laid down my roots I could maybe do this later on in life.
When you're an empty-nester.
That's when I'll be back here.
- I'd consider doing it again. Yeah, guys.
I'd consider it.
- Even Fred. A changed woman.
So Formula Drift.
- Lady Liked.
- Lady love it.
- Lady almost pooped.
- I'm glad you didn't poop, Freddie.
