In this segment, I'd like to talk about the baseball back swing. This is one of the more
interesting aspects of the baseball swing, because when you're actually hitting a baseball,
and you know there's tremendous power in baseball, a heavy bat, swinging it. Your back swing,
your hands and arms are so close to your body when you're hitting a baseball. You'll do
your waggle in baseball, and then you'll get ready to hit. Look at that position. There's
no hinge of the wrists. There's no extension. There's not much body turn. I find that very
interesting, and along those same lines, maybe with a baseball golf swing, you don't have
to extend, and turn, and hinge. Maybe that's too much to do. In fact, you might even try
this as an experiment. Get that good hand position grip, and just bring the club right
here, like in baseball, and just see where you go, and try to hit a few shots like that,
but my main point is, that I find it so interesting, that you could get so much power with a heavy
baseball bat, only bringing your hands and arms back this far, and the bat being in that
position, as opposed to, in some other hinge position. Think about it, try it. You might
even address that ball and get into that position, and swing from there, just as a practice drill.
You might be surprised how far you hit the ball.
