Hi everyone, I'm Russ Handler, travel expert and who doesn't like a good road trip? You
know, with airline tickets rising steadily, road trips are becoming more and more the
rage. Especially for you folks who are taking a college road trip for spring break. There's
a couple of things you need to keep in mind while planning for a road trip. Number one,
it all starts with the vehicle you're going to be in. Make sure that you have the vehicle
to accommodate your guests and their luggage. Now more importantly, you want to make sure
that that vehicle is in the best shape it can be. Any worn tires, not a good thing.
Make sure you have an oil change. Make sure your brakes are in good shape. Make sure all
of your headlamps are working and make sure that you get a good tuneup before you go.
One thing that's good for the college folks or those others taking a road trip, have everybody
pitch in a little bit to get the car up to serviceable value to make sure that everyone
is safe on that trip. That is the most important thing. Second, plan your route well in advance.
Know where you're going well in advance. Plan your hotel stays and your budget, that's important
as well. Keep in mind you'll need to eat, you'll need to have gas and you could do some
research up and down the highways on the Internet to find out where the best values are for
not only fuel, but for lunch, dinner and overnight housing. I'm Russ Handler and that's how its
done.
