To work your obliques or the muscles under your love handles, take a handle
like this from a cable crossover machine and get your arms straight.
Slightly bend your elbows, step back away from the cable crossover machine,
while keeping your arms straight but don't step back so far that the weight
place of the cable crossover machine comes up.
After you step back and set up, you can now perform the wood chop exercise
like you see I'm doing now in the video to work your obliques to help you
get rid of your love handles. The movement is almost similar to a golf or a
baseball swing. Watch how I move my feet in the video and make sure that
you're not using your arms for this movement. You may use your arms some,
but you want your midsection, or your obliques, which are the muscles that
make you twist, doing most of the work.
If you don't feel it in your sides or your obliques, then that's a sign
that you're using your arms too much or you may not be twisting your
midsection properly. Or you may not be using enough weight.
