Hi, my name is Leslie Moselle, and I'm from Tampa Florida, and on behalf of Expert Village,
this is how to iron a dress shirt. Chapter five, starch. Just like with everything else,
the type of starch or the product that you use is up to you. Starch goes hand in hand
with ironing and is really important when ironing dress shirts like the one we're ironing
today. For heavy cotton materials, starch is a great way to hold in the iron for a long
period of time, either for the day. You get a better result with using starch. The most
important thing to remember is the type of starch you purchase. Light body is the one
we're using today. Light body is good. You can always apply more than one application
of starch if you want a crisper look. They do sell heavy, heavy or light starches. Heavy
starches are really great if you want that crisp, professional look for your dress shirts.
If you have a light body one on hand, because it's good for different materials, you can
just use it more than once when ironing your shirts. But just remember when you're ironing
and you want to use your starch just apply a light spray. You don't want to get too close
to the material, and just start from one end of the shirt to the other end. You can iron
over it one time, and if you'd like to spray another application and iron it again it's
up to you. But that is the use of starch when ironing.
