Bayern Munich have announced that Pep Guardiola will become their head coach at the end of
the season.
Guardiola has reportedly signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the German club and will replace
current head coach Jupp Heynckes when he retires in May.
Former Barcelona boss Guardiola has been linked with the world's top clubs, including Chelsea
and AC Milan, during his year long sabbatical from football.
The 41-year-old had stated that he wished to manage in the Premier League but the lure
of four time European champions Bayern proved too powerful.
Guardiola left the Nou Camp in May after winning 14 trophies during his four year spell in
charge of Barcelona, making him the most successful coach in the club's history
The former midfielder led Barca to two Champions League titles and Bayern will be hoping he
can repeat the feat in Bavaria.
Bayern last won the Champions League in 2001 and lost the 2012 final to Chelsea.
