to pull off an illusion.
I really love body painting.
It's my job, but it's something that I do for fun.
Let's see if we can actually match
the color that's on the table.
This color is gonna look awesome.
I really don't care if I get paid or not; it's my passion.
I'm gonna take my stencils and overlay them on top of you.
If I'm inspired, I'll spend days
just getting a job done because it pleases me.
I think it's gonna turn out nice.
If I can affect people with my art
and have fun at the same time,
that's the perfect combination.
Awesome.
- Blackjack.
- I'm Red Belmonte, and if you've hired me,
someone's getting naked.
My company is Naked Vegas,
a one-stop shop for all your body painting desires.
- Agh!
- I've hired the best artists
from the world of body painting...
And my office manager Drew.
- Let's get painted!
- We're...
I'm so excited to meet the Jabbawockeez.
I can't believe they agreed to meet with us.
Jabbawockeez is an all-male hip-hop dance crew
that has this really, really popular show
here at the Luxor in Las Vegas.
They're awesome.
I don't usually cold-call clients,
but after watching these guys dance,
I just couldn't help myself.
Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Red.
- Hey, Rainen, Ben.
- After reaching out to their manager,
I'm pitching them about letting my Naked Vegas crew paint
for their 10th anniversary special.
- I'm Ben. - Good to meet you, Ben.
- So I'm really excited that you guys have me here.
- Just to let you know, I was actually over
at the Lingerie Ball over at the Palms.
- Really? - It was pretty impressive, yeah.
- Thanks.
It's always great to hear that our work is appreciated,
but what he saw was lingerie painted on three women.
The real challenge here is convincing him
that body paint is right for the Jabbawockeez.
- I don't know how it's necessarily gonna work with our show,
but I'd like to kind of just explore
and see if there's something that we can build--
- Well, I know you guys have your 10th anniversary coming up,
and so I'm thinking that maybe we can do something special for that.
- Yeah. - That would be cool.
Do you guys have any ideas
as far as how we can make that concept of paint
work within the Jabbawockeez concept?
- The Jabbawockeez are known for wearing all black clothing
and an expressionless white mask.
So in prepping for this meeting,
I came up with some interesting ideas
on how to make that look work with some body paint.
I love how well you guys work together as a team
and the mask kind of signifies
having not one person stand out, but the team work together,
and that kind of inspired me.
Maybe we could have you guys form one mask as one unit.
Like, you guys have gone this far as one unit.
- Just to be perfectly clear and honest,
I'm not having these guys dance naked.
So, uh...
- It didn't even cross my mind, actually.
- It crossed my mind,
but I guess I'll just cross it out.
- When you cold-call a client,
you're bound to get thrown, like, a few curveballs.
If the Jabbawockeez don't want to be painted,
maybe we can offer them painted models instead.
I have a bunch of friends that dance,
so I will definitely cast it, okay.
I'm not really worried about that. - Awesome.
- Being that this is a family show,
I'm actually kind of hesitant.
We try to cater to all demographics.
How does it work with--
- I am all for making things
as family-friendly as possible.
We've got pasties and *** tape.
So there's gonna be a very few amount of people
that actually know that they're body painted.
They're gonna think that they're clothes.
People who don't know will walk out scratching their heads like,
"That's-- how'd they do that?" You know?
So we're just gonna add more of that wow factor for you.
- I think this will be good because we're very inspired by all art,
from sculpting to painting to obviously music and dance.
That's what we do. - Does that mean I got a yes?
- Yeah.
- Looks like the guys say yes. - Awesome.
The Jabbawockeez are totally in,
but their manager-- he's a little on the fence.
So I know we're gonna have to work extra hard,
but I'm sure we can win him over.
You guys have a white mask
and your suits are most of the time black.
Can we incorporate any other color into it?
- Our show is called PRiSM and this actually is the first show
we incorporate, like, a lot of different colors.
- That would be pretty cool if they come out all black and white,
and all of a sudden they turn around-- boom.
You see all this color. - Hmm, I like it.
This is an amazing opportunity for Naked Vegas's work
to be shown by a high-profile client
and for their 10th anniversary show.
Bye, guys.
I'm so excited.
Oh, that looks delicious! - Oh, thank you very much.
- We got the Jabbawockeez gig, which is amazing,
but I do have another meeting today
with celebrity chef Carla Pellegrino.
Hello. - Hi.
- She's been on television.
She won "Throwdown! with Bobby Flay."
She has several restaurants here in Las Vegas
and she has an event coming up that she'd like to talk to us about.
- Welcome to my kitchen.
You know, I'm so happy you guys actually came.
I would like to have you guys tasting some of the dishes.
- Okay. - We always think better, you know,
- with a full stomach. - With a full tummy.
- I like her way of thinking.
- ( snarling )
- ( gasps )
That's awesome. Oh, my God.
Oh, look how pretty that is.
Before we even start talking business,
she is just feeding us all this amazing food.
I want to take her home with me.
It's like being at my grandmother's house.
Carla was trying to feed everybody.
This is so good.
The presentation, the sauces--
I can see why she's a famous chef.
She inspires me.
Okay, so explain to me exactly what this venture is.
- I want to go back to fine dining.
I finally found investors.
They want a final tasting.
- I get it. She has some investors
that are willing to put up some money for a new restaurant,
but they want to sample the menu first.
But how does body paint fit into that?
- So I think we should have three models
with the actual food painted on them.
Maybe you guys do the plate.
Maybe we do one appetizer, the other one the entrée.
- She wants us to recreate in paint
everything that she's going to cook.
- I think we should have a third girl in to be the dessert.
- A dessert girl? You want a girl as a dessert?
- If it's doable, that would be awesome.
- Wow, that's crazy.
Body painting a model to be the dessert tray
that the investors can eat off of?
I've body painted some strange concepts before,
but this one-- it takes the cake.
- I want to make you guys understand how important it is.
This is it. It's like a $2 million dinner.
- I don't think I've ever had a client before
that has had this much at stake with our body paint.
- A $2 million dinner. Think about it.
- That's a lot of meatballs.
- Naked Vegas has two million reasons
to knock this one out of the park.
I want you to know, businesswoman to businesswoman,
because I just started my business too,
I got your back.
- I know. I know that.
- We're gonna do this. - It's gonna be awesome.
- It's gonna be a good one, and a yummy one at that. - Indeed.
- You guys, come on over.
We had the best meeting just now.
I wish you guys all could have been there.
After our meeting with Carla, I couldn't wait
to tell the group about this paint job.
They're gonna flip.
She's got these investors.
She wants to open up a fine dining restaurant
with her own stamp on it.
It's worth $2 million, this dinner.
- This is the last meeting.
They're supposed to be bringing the paperwork
and she figured if there was something she can do
- to really take it over the edge... - Wow, I'm--
...what could be better than painted models?
- So we're gonna paint them up
and they're gonna serve desserts and entrées and stuff?
- She wants the food painted on the girls.
- There's gonna be a piece of glass separating them,
and then the plates of food will be on that,
but if you pull the plate away,
the exact plate will be painted on the model right below it.
- Wow. - Yeah, so...
- Dinner is served.
- Painting models to represent the same food that you're serving?
That's a pretty insane gig.
- This food looks beautiful.
It doesn't just look delicious,
it looks like work of art in itself.
- One of the biggest challenges on this job
is making the food look real.
So Drew took pictures of the food from above
so that all of us know what the dishes are supposed to look like.
She really wants us to match these pictures as closely as possible.
- That's gonna be a big challenge. - Right, right.
- In fine dining, presentation is everything.
And from the look of all this amazing food,
we're gonna have to be as meticulous with our paint
as she is with her dishes.
- The dessert girl is going to have food physically, like, on her.
And they will be pulling it off of the model,
so it will be kind of sexy. - Gotcha.
Wow, a girl you can eat off of?
It sounds cool and sexy at the same time.
I've never done anything like this.
- If we're gonna pull this off, we physically have to be there.
We have to pack the shop up
and take our stuff and paint there.
Because the dessert girl is gonna have food on her,
we can't do this in the shop.
I mean, if we did it at the shop, by the time we got there,
it would probably be on the floor of my car.
- ( laughs ) - Holy crap.
- So I got all this fun stuff. - You went all out.
- I knew this dessert girl was gonna be the hardest part of this job,
so while Drew and I were out, we bought all sorts of things to see what might work.
What we should end up doing is like a lace shirt,
sort of like a beautiful chocolate lace cookie.
- She's gonna be covered, like, completely head to toe with chocolate?
- No. - So, wait.
What are you gonna use as a foundation that's edible?
- While I was trying to imagine how to create our dessert model,
I realized that we just can't lay down a base coat of regular paint.
Food and paint don't mix, so we need a foundation that is edible.
- Hold on.
- Edible spray-paint?
- Look at that. That could be the base.
We found an edible spray paint that's ethanol-based.
It's odorless, colorless, and tasteless.
We're gonna lay down a really shiny gold foundation that we can decorate
and it'll make the dessert really appetizing.
Is my tongue weird?
- A little bit. Is mine?
- No. - So then we have a plan?
- Yeah.
For Carla Pellegrino's investor dinner,
we're going to paint three women
to represent three courses of a meal.
The models representing the appetizer and the main course
will be presented under glass tables
with the dishes recreated on their skin.
And the third model will be painted as the dessert tray
and decorated so that guests can literally eat off of her.
So tomorrow morning we're gonna start
bright and early at Carla's penthouse.
- Should we get our models up here? - Yes.
- It's paint day and I'm so glad
Carla's allowing us to paint on location.
This allows us to deliver the best possible presentation
for her investor dinner.
- So you guys are going to be delicious today.
- Yes, you are. - A complete menu of wonderful yumminess.
- Go ahead and take off your robes.
So she's dessert and these two are in the tables. - Yep.
- Now that we know which model is which course,
it's time to start painting.
Really important-- this white has to be, like...
- Super-smooth. - ...super-smooth.
- Check it out. - Oh! Perfect.
Actually, if you guys wanna get these base coats finished,
I'll get the tablecloth on
and then we can start getting down.
With the base paint finished and the plates positioned on the torso,
it's time to start to plan the detail of the tablecloth to our models.
- Nice.
- First, we'll lay down a red cloth underneath the white lace.
Then we'll bring in our models and apply
that same pattern to their skin.
If it's done right, the effect should be like camouflage
and our models will blend in perfectly to the tablecloth.
- Hey, Red. - Yes.
- Do you want to look at this?
As I'm spraying the tablecloth pattern onto the model,
there's just something that feels off about it.
The pattern is too busy and the red is just too dominating.
I'm really worried
that it's going to distract the eye and it's going to take away
the main focus of what the investors
are supposed to be looking at-- the food.
I think it's too distracting.
- I think it's too much red.
- Just-- I don't know.
- Okay. Let's see what you got.
No, I don't really like it at all to be honest with you.
Okay, this tablecloth pattern, it's just not working.
There's no way we can move forward with this.
This looks so oversprayed
and fuzzy and lost. You know what I mean?
As is, this concept is absolute crap
and we need to rethink this.
I really don't like it at all.
- Hi, Red. - Carla arrives to start her cooking
and we are not as far along as we'd hoped we'd be.
- This is not good.
- The Jabbawockeez want seven models painted with the mask.
It's our job to take their black and white style
and turn it into a really interesting body paint.
- This is looking a lot different than I imagined it. ( bleep )
- No, I don't really like it at all to be honest with you.
- After laying out the pattern for the tablecloths,
something felt wrong.
Let go.
The pattern was confusing and the red was just too bright.
- This looks so oversprayed
and fuzzy and lost. You know what I mean?
I really don't like it at all.
- I think what's rubbing everybody the wrong way
is the red paint is actually more prominent
on the model than the tablecloth.
- Try the double-up, man. - All right.
- So my plan is to double up the lace before we airbrush,
so we can desaturate the red paint.
- That looks definitely truer to this.
So that's totally fine with me. Okay.
Work it out. Make it happen. Okay? We don't have much time.
Oh, Heather, that's amazing.
- Thank you. I just started.
I just thought it was one of the prettier ones
and it should be on top.
Now that we've figured out the tablecloths,
the next and most important step
is hand-painting the individual dishes.
This will be the most time-consuming part
of this process because in essence,
we're creating multiple still-life paintings on each model.
- All right, ladies, gentlemen. - Let's go.
- Come on. Paint.
- You guys are going to be delicious today.
Dude, that's looking killer, bro.
- Yeah. All I got to do now is put the drop shadows.
I'm gonna use this same stencil
and then I'll airbrush around it so that it gives depth to it.
For this presentation, the plate of food that we're painting
is gonna be underneath the actual plate of real food.
The resemblance has to be nearly identical.
To achieve this, we're using fine brushes to give that food real detail.
It's just something you can't get with an airbrush.
- Whoa. That looks so tight.
- While the rest of the team is painting the appetizers
and the main courses on our first two models...
Yeah, we're going to paint them right now.
...I'm applying the edible gold spray paint
to our dessert model.
Ready?
I'm putting on an edible gold dust.
You are gonna look so beautiful when I'm done with you.
Once she's covered in gold paint,
I'm using a frosting bag
to add an ornate pattern of curlicues,
so Carla's deserts will look like they're laid out on a chocolate doily.
- Oh, that's looking really cool.
- What are you using? - Frosting.
We've got, like, little pieces of, like, curls and stuff like that.
- Is this that gold spray? - Yeah.
- That looks pretty sweet. - Not bad, huh?
Time to add some sugar.
Girl, when I'm done with you, they're gonna make room for dessert.
- ♪ Come, come, come on... ♪
- Whoa, whoa. Hi, Red. How are you?
- So Carla arrives to start her cooking
and we are not as far along as we'd hoped we'd be.
- Dude, we're going to have people here in an hour from now.
I thought you guys were gonna be ready.
- Don't worry. I have confidence. - It's looking good.
But it better be done when they get here.
- They will be. I promise.
- Oh, my God. Please. - Girl Scout's honor.
Okay. I'm just going to put my things-- oh, my God. I'm serious.
- Okay. - You focus on the food
and we will make everything else look perfect. - All right.
- I really hate it when a client sees our work before it's finished.
So now I've got to do a little bit of damage control
to kind of put her mind at ease.
- Oh, my God. That looks really amazing.
If we get done in an hour, that would be great.
- She'll look awesome. Don't worry about that.
Think of it like this. When you're cooking
- and you're in your kitchen-- - Yeah.
- Most of the time it looks like we're not gonna make it. - Right.
- And then you always do.
- I'm sorry because that's something that is not my field
and, you know, I just got nervous. It's gonna be okay.
- It's gonna be okay. Exactly.
Now that I've assured her that we can get this job done in time,
we need to get this job done in time.
- Hey, look. You ready?
Whoa.
- Are we almost ready here?
- Yeah. We're almost ready. We're about done.
- Uh, this drop cloth should go.
What we were gonna do-- just to give her padding--
is to kind of tuck it under.
Would that work? And put a really pretty tablecloth--
- No. I don't want this thing-- not near my food.
It is kind of not sanitary. It's-- that's got to go.
- So as I'm putting the final details down on my dessert model,
I realize I've got to get the drop cloth out from underneath her.
But the frosting and cream are drying much faster than I thought.
All right, all right. So just do sections.
( gasps )
No, no, no, no, no. Lift up here
and a tiny bit. Now put it-- there we go.
I'm worried that if we move her to get it out,
the decorations are gonna crack or be completely ruined.
This is like the body paint version of defusing a bomb.
Be careful, all right, you guys?
We've got frosting all over her and melted chocolate.
You realize that this is chocolate and it will move, right?
- Do you want me to lift and tilt?
- Careful, careful, careful, careful.
- ( gasps ) - There you go.
- Oh, awesome. Oh, my God.
I can't believe that, like, was all right.
Okay, crisis averted.
All that's left is getting the room ready for presentation.
Now grab the red.
- You guys need to help me out. Set up everything.
- Where everything goes and then--
- And then we need to get the heck out of here.
- Yes. - Okay.
- ( laughs ) Oh, God. I'm sorry. - Got it.
All right, you guys. Like, if you heard the woman,
the investors will be here any minute.
- I feel like I'm in a Vegas buffet.
- Seriously.
It looks so good, I can practically smell it.
Oh, my God. It's so realistic. It's amazing.
Carla Pellegrino's dinner party,
we've painted three models as three courses.
For the appetizer and the main course,
we've covered two of our models in a pattern
matching the tablecloth underneath them.
Then we added some of Carla's beautiful signature dishes
to whet the appetite.
To top it all off, we painted our third model
as the dessert course
complete with white and dark chocolate curlicues.
She looks good enough to eat off of.
I can't wait to hear how the investors react.
- So we've just gotten everything done. - ( doorbell rings )
- Now it's time for us to get out of sight
and maybe eavesdrop on what the investors think.
- Hi, Matthew. - Carla, it's great to see you.
- How are you, dear? - Very good.

- I am really looking forward to signing this deal today.
So I want to wow you guys.

I hope they're gonna want to invest in Carla's restaurant.
- I know we eat dessert right after the meal, of course.
We all know that. I have a little surprise for you.
- Oh. - Not another surprise.
- Wow. - Whoa, whoa.
- ( Carla laughs ) - My goodness.
- Carla, this is amazing.
- It's a gelato. - Mm.
- They could not say no.
I think that was just--
the last sentence that we needed to make those guys sign.
- Can I get a hug? - All right.
- Tonight was it.
It was the day that we put it together and made it happen.
I need to thank Red for that
because I think it was really well thought.
And I think tonight was a huge success.
- Hello, you guys.
This is a great feeling.
Now that Carla's dinner was a success,
we can concentrate on the Jabbawockeez.
It was a pretty good meeting with the Jabbawockeez.
- They hooked it up phat. - Oh, awesome.
- They gave masks and some awesome artwork.
- That's their actual mask?
They provided us with a few of their signature masks
and it's our job to take their signature black and white style
and turn it into a really interesting body paint.
The Jabbawockeez want to show
seven models painted with a mask on the front
and then when they turn around, they're gonna have red, orange,
yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet
on the back.
What we have to do is figure out
how to put this on them to make it work.
It's really a perspective job.
So if you guys can just get to
brainstorming out your ideas for the back.
- I am so pumped to be working with the Jabbawockeez.
I'm a huge fan. I've been following their whole career.
This is awesome.
The first obstacle
is figuring out a way to paint that iconic mask
across multiple bodies.
So I'm using one of their posters as inspiration.
The poster shows three masks
from different angles with deep shadows.
Painting three instead of just one
means we can spread the masks over a wider canvas.
So we can incorporate more models into the presentation.
- So you've got three people making up one mask here... - Right.
- ...and then you've got four, five making up those two.
- Mm-hmm. Wiser came up with this really good idea
how to incorporate the masks across the backs of all of our models.
We just have to come up with an idea of how to incorporate
the color from the prism across the front side of them.
- Definitely a way to incorporate the color in
would be to do some graffiti.
So when they go to turn around,
they don't just turn around.
They actually spread out and turn around.
And we can have the Jabbawockeez letters in graffiti.
All the different colors of the rainbow just like they want.
For the Jabbawockeez's performance,,For the Js
we're taking their iconic white masks
and applying it to the backs of three of our models.
And then bookending that with two smaller masks.
Just like their logo.
Then when our crew of models turns around,
all seven will join together to form
an original graffiti design reading "Jabbawockeez"
that incorporates all of the colors of the spectrum.
- So what's the process of painting this?
- We can individually base them all white.
Then we get them into position,
you airbrush the shapes of the masks, the faces,
shading in with the gray,
then we can get to laying out the graffiti.
Yeah? - Yeah. Like I said, I'll follow your lead.
- I trust you. - Definitely, thanks for
going along with me on this one, guys.
I'm more than happy to take the reins on this.
- Actually, you can just swivel the whole thing.
I was thinking about the best way to paint the mask designs.
What I came up with is using a video projector.
I'll project the image across all seven bodies
so I'll know exactly where the lines are gonna be.
- We have Jabba models.
Okay, so you're going to be right in the exact center.
And you're just going to hand like this. Okay?
And actually, come this way a bit. Right there.
I think that's gonna work.
Okay. In-- in more.
- It's supposed to be one mask on three bodies, right?
- Yeah.
- Problem is if we get down too far below the waist,
like, then we end up with breaks.
- Oh, yeah. - Where their legs separate.
Using the projector is a great idea,
but this is new territory for us.
We've got to line up the models to see if this experiment
is even gonna work.
- With three people here,
the mask isn't wide enough to go that way.
So it'll be one mask on two people.
- Works. - That works perfectly.
- Watch-- get their robes off.
And where their elbows are gonna be
is gonna be a big ol' hole.
Big hole.
We're looking at the projected image
and it's just not lining up right!
All the gaps in between the bodies
are making the artwork look incomplete.
- Can I have the two of you this way
and see how close we get you.
Come in towards me a little bit.
Yeah. Let's see...
- Open spaces. - All right, go ahead and do this--
turn this way.
- Man, I really don't know if this is gonna work.
This is looking a lot different than I imagined it.
- It's not at all how I pictured it.
The height differences are off.
I'm worried.
- It's possible the idea of painting the three masks
across the backs of our models isn't even gonna work.
- We don't have a whole lot of time for it not working.
I don't know if this is gonna work, you guys.
( bleep ).
- Too far behind.
Now we have to put Wiser's graffiti on the flip side.
I get to show off some of my graffiti style...
It's gonna be killa!
- So we're pretty far along with the paint job.
I want to make sure the mask is looking good as a complete image.
( sighs )
Look, you see how the black paint is bleeding over?
It looks messed up.
I made a massive miscalculation.
And this can screw up the whole design.
( bleep ) is messed up.
The height differences are off.
I'm worried.
We're using a projector to cast the image
of the Jabbawockeez mask across the backs of our models
to kind of give us an idea of what our paint will look like.
- On the sides, tilt in toward each other.
- There we go. - There's still space right there, though.
- I really don't know if this is gonna work.
- Well, we have to try to make it work.
What we're seeing isn't what we imagined at all.
- Should we have her angle back out a little bit?
- I think it looks better angled out,
'cause her back muscles make it a little weird.
If she can just-- bring your left shoulder out a little.
- I still think we can get the three masks to look awesome
on the backs of all three models.
Can we just try something just to try it?
Can you put your arms over the top here?
We just need to figure out a way to close the gaps
in between the bodies.
- Yeah, that does work better, Nix.
- Yeah, it does. It flattens them out.
- More comfortable, too.
- We're back in business. - Oh, that's better. Way better.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - That works ( bleep ) awesome.
- I think that's great.
- I would say hit it. Hit it right there.
- Das gut? - Das gut.
- Yeah.
Ladies and gentlemen, just hold still.
I'm gonna make my magic.
Let's just focus on that middle one
and start sketching it out.
Using the projector gave us the opportunity
to put down an outline before we started applying paint.
Is that good for you guys?
- I think that's good.
- So, the other two models--
we're gonna try to figure out where we can "fit ya ins" at.
Now that we've finished the first mask,
it's time to work on the two masks that accent the sides.
- Does that work? - Yep, that works.
- Yep. - All right.
- You models, memorize where you're at.
When you come out onstage,
this is the exact formation you'll need to be in
for the very first formation.
- Now we have to put an outline of Wiser's graffiti
on the flip side.
- Okay, so go ahead and break apart.
You and you come to the center.
We need two on this side and three on this side.
Ding. All right, here we go.
For the second formation,
I get to show off some of my graffiti style,
so I'm gonna spell out "Jabbawockeez" in every color of the rainbow.
- Quick, Wiser, the cops are comin'!
- ( laughs )
- Okay, go ahead and get in the formation.
Like, this right here is perfect.
So after you're in that first formation,
they're gonna dance in front of you and create a wall,
and then that's when you'll go into this one.
- Nice. - Perfect!
You two, you're going with Nix over there.
You three, come over with Red and Heather.
Man, this job has so many models and so many elements,
that while Nix is gonna take care of airbrushing the masks,
Heather, Red and I are gonna knock out the graffiti art.
And with the three of us "dividing and conquering," it can get confusing.
So Heather's created a road map
of which color of the spectrum goes with which letter.
- Wiser, I laid out the letters.
So I just do an even gradient blend
and it's gonna be plain blocked in like that?
- We'll do this, just like you said. - Okay.
- And then we'll take bits of orange and add it to the red.
- Right. Okay. - Now it's time to "divide and conquer" and paint.
I'm just gonna kinda put numbers on you
so you guys don't get mixed up.
- The advantage to mapping out our designs beforehand
is that we're able to split up our group of models
and each paint up a couple of 'em.
In theory, everyone is now free to paint their own section
without having to worry if it'll all line up at the end.
Yeah, it's looking awesome.
- Get some question marks around the letters,
and then the rest is just blacked out.
- Besides the designs that we've outlined,
the rest of the models we painted completely black.
This will make the white of the mask really pop,
and the colors of the graffiti writing will be really vibrant.
- I think it looks good so far. Like, we're getting there.
- Adding some splatters here just to add some more pop.
It'll give the effect that these letters
are kind of exploding all over the place.
We're gonna do this with all the letters
on all the models.
It's gonna be killa!
- Do me a favor. Let me have you guys stand right down there.
So, we're pretty far along in the paint job.
And for my own peace of mind, I wanna make sure the mask
is looking good as a complete image and everything is lining up.
Yeah, I don't think it was that far over.
Were you turned in this way at all?
- I was kind of turned like this.
- All right, you guys just go into a formation
that feels comfortable and we'll look at it.
The edges of the blacked-out front are bleeding into
the white mask painted on the backs of the models,
making it look like the face has wrinkles.
Oh, God.
Look, you see how the black paint is bleeding over?
It looks messed up.
Oh, I do not want to do another one.
I made a massive miscalculation
and this can screw up the whole design.
( bleep )
( bleep ) is messed up.
- What do you think? - I need to see how it kind of all comes together.
- We're backstage at the Jabbawockeez's theater.
I really hope they like what they see.
- I don't see a mask yet.
- Our models have never rehearsed this before
in front of a live audience.
I'm praying that when they come onstage,
they get into formation perfectly.
If someone slips up or doesn't hit their mark,
the whole paint job can end up looking off or just plain terrible.
- This is amazing and nerve-racking.
- We could ruin their entire performance.
- Oh, God.
We're painting the models for our Jabbawockeez show
and looking at the models that will form our center mask.
Look, you see how the black paint is bleeding over?
It looks messed up.
We didn't take into consideration
where the black half ends and the white mask begins.
So right now the design looks fractured.
Oh, I do not want to do another one.
( bleep ) is messed up.
To fix this, we need to figure out the perfect middle ground
from where the black will transition into the white.
I need to redraw the borders on most of the models.
All right, you're good for right now.
Hey, Suzanne.
This black is too far over.
- Okay, Wet-Nap it out? - Yeah.
So I'm gonna have you go with Suzanne for a second.
- All right.
- Oh, God, I got so much to do still.
- Nix, 60-minute warning.
- God, I hate you.
Bring your arms in.
Oh, ( bleep ) yeah.
Give me, like, five minutes and I should be able to piece them together.
All right, you can go back in.
- Oh, dude.
Yeah. Yeah.
That's lookin' dope, dude.
This is looking way sick.
I mean, this is coming together beautifully.
- With the borders in place,
it's time to do some final details.
- And that's how it stays so shiny.
- What do we have on your front?
- A question mark. - Oh, gotcha.
- Because the mask design
doesn't stretch out to the two models on the ends,
we're gonna have to add something to make them look
more interesting to look at.
To do that, I'm painting the Jabbawockeez's signature
upside-down question mark across their chests.
To give the bright white question marks some texture,
I'm airbrushing in some stencils
of the Jabbawockeez dancers.
- That looks so good!
- I kind of don't really know how to put them on,
but we'll fake it.
Fake it till we make it.
- So we're placing the Jabbawockeez masks
on the front and back of each model's head.
Wait, hold on. Does it feel comfortable on the chin?
So this way, no matter which way they're facing,
they're gonna look right at home in the Jabbawockeez universe.
There, that's better. - Much better.
- That's better. - Yeah.
- To complete the Jabbawockeez look,
I'm using an airbrush to clean up the lines around the masks and hats
so absolutely no skin is visible.
Perfect.
- The masks look great.
The graffiti looks great.
- Yeah!
- I'm looking around the room
and I'm really beginning to see Jabbawockeez.
- That's what's up.
- For the Jabbawockeez's 10th anniversary special,
our mission was to paint seven models
as two cohesive art pieces.
Their signature masks in the first formation
and colorful graffiti in the second.
To do this, we divided each model into two canvases--
the front and the back.
In the first formation, the models in the center join together
to form the iconic Jabbawockeez masks
while the models on the end were painted
with their signature question marks.
In the second formation, the models at the center form one mask,
which breaks up a colorful graffiti interpretation
of the name Jabbawockeez.
Both of these beautiful murals
are going to make their debut tonight
live on the Jabbawockeez stage.
- Whoo!
- We're backstage at the Jabbawockeez's theater
and while the dance troupe warms up,
we're busy putting our final touches on our models.
I can't wait to show off our work.
I really hope they like what they see.
I am extremely happy for what we've pulled off.
Hey. - Hey. How's it going?
- So when we first sold the Jabbawockeez on body paint,
their manager Lee, he was the one who was most skeptical.
So I really hope he likes our work.
What do you think?
- That's sick.
That's pretty cool. Wait, so is that all paint?
- Whitney, can you step away for a second?
- See? - Oh, yeah.
- We put all the print in there.
- That's dope. Is it like-- it's a stencil?
- We cut a stencil, man.
- This looks really impressive.
But I need to see how it kind of all
comes together, 'cause I'm getting the bits and pieces.
I don't see a mask yet, so...
- Their manager Lee is already impressed
with the individual artwork.
Now we're gonna show him how it all comes together.
Julie. Julie. Get in formation.
I promise, you're gonna be amazed.
- How did you do that?
It looks like their natural skin.
Body painting is just sexy.
It's got some swag. It's cool.
That was really good.
It was beyond my expectations, that's for sure.
I'm really excited to see how it all comes together.
You guys enjoy the show.
- All right. We'll be here. - All right. See you.
- I'm happy the manager's pleased,
but I'm a little nervous 'cause we still have the live show.
Our models have never rehearsed this before in front of a live audience.
And they'll only have one shot
at coming together perfectly during the performance.
- Everybody got hats?
- If someone slips up or doesn't hit their mark,
the whole paint job could end up looking off or just plain terrible.
- Here we go, guys.
Brothers of the night, deliverers of the light.
What is our occupation? - PRiSM!
Whoo!
- Here we go, guys.
Brothers of the night, deliverers of the light.
What is our occupation? - PRiSM!
- ( chanting )
- It's just about show time and the Jabbawockeez
have invited us to be a part of their preshow ritual.
- Pointing upward. - Whoo!
- That was awesome.
- The Jabbawockeez brought us into their inner circle,
which is incredible.
And I'm about to see my graffiti art
in front of a live audience.
This is amazing and nerve-racking.
- I've been a part of so many different body paint events in my career
and I rarely get nervous, but tonight,
with this live event, I am definitely nervous.
- ( cheering )
- The Jabbawockeez are awesome.
There is so much energy in this auditorium.
These incredibly coordinated dance moves
are exactly why these guys have been doing this for, like, 10 years.
They're jumping around onstage like they're on wires.
It's incredible how these guys move.
- ( cheering )
- It's time for the finale.
I have no words to describe how I'm feeling right now.
- I'm praying that when our models come onstage,
they get into the two formations perfectly.
- ( cheering )
- If not, we could ruin their entire performance.
Oh, my. Here we go.
- ( cheering )
- Our models came out and they hit the first formation perfectly.
They looked sick. Now they just have to get the second one right.
- The show was great. The models looked great.
And I got to bring some of my graffiti style
to the Jabbawockeez. So freaking cool.
- When I got the call from Red,
I knew this was gonna be a life-changing opportunity.
The neon lights, the fast pace,
I'm happy.
- I love Red. She's become like a sister to me.
She's amazing at what she does.
She gets these clients and she gets us the coolest jobs.
This is amazing.
- When I started this business,
this is a moment that I could only dream about.
But now it's reality. It's actually happening.
I'm so lucky to have Wiser and Nix,
Heather and Drew on my team.
I feel like the more we work together
and grow this business, there's nothing we can't accomplish.
I can't wait to see what happens next.
