There is such a thing as an independent film.
It is a film that is financially beholden to no one
investor or TV station or institutional grant-giving body.
It is a film, for better or worse, that represents
one’s artistic, uncompromising vision.
You may like it.
You may hate it.
It may make you feel good or it may *** you off
but it is art and it is independent.
I think anyone who knows Keith Deligero
the director of tonight’s film, knows that
he’s a filmmaker who does his art one way—His way.
Two years ago, Keith shocked us all with his came-out-of-nowhere
shoestring budget, self-financed, heavy-metal, octane-fueled
coming-of-age film, Baboyirongboang
which I know I mispronounced that
which screened here at Sinekultura last year and at Cinemarehiyon in 2010.
Today, the Tioseco-Bohinc Film Archive and Sinekultura are proud to present
His follow-up feature, Kordero Sa Dios.
Enjoy the film.
It doesn't get anymore "indie" than this.
