Hey what's up guys.
welcome to another episode from tasty sauces dot com
I'm your host Billy D
and today we look at a couple more Texas salsas.
These are some local ones that I just picked up at the Central Market in the area so
definitely eager to try them out.
The first one we have is Native Texan Salsa. This one is a
medium blend and their restaurant style.
Typically, I like the restaurant style the best so I
definitely wanted to give this one a shot.
And we have Dan's Prime Fire Roasted Salsa
I like the fire roasted salsas because you can really
taste the way they cooked those vegetables and this is also a medium blend so I am
kinda curious to try them out.
So without further adieu let's go ahead and jump right in guys.
Let's give it a nice little shake.
It has a nice
a nice, smooth smell to it.
It doesn't smell too spicy, everything is real pureed on it if you look at the texture.
It is hard to make out what exactly is in there but let's see:
They got tomatoes,
onions, garlic, salt,
vinegar, Serrano and jalapeno peppers, and spices
So this one might actually have a little kick to it.
But this is the medium so I am not expecting a whole lot.
It has got a very mellow and smooth taste
really not detecting too much heat from it, let me see if I get it with the pepper
It is pretty tasty, really smooth
pretty good
probably eat a whole bunch more of this in the afternoon
so basically
I would give this one
probably a 4 well probably not 4, I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.
on my personal preference scale but would definitely very tasty.
On my heat level scale 1 to 10, I would give this
this one's really low on the scale, I would give it a 2 out of 10 on the heat
Definitely tasty, I would recommend that one for sure.
And now for the Dan's Prime
It has a little smoky smell to it.
This stuff is nice and pureed and a little chunkier than that last stuff.
As far as the ingredients
they are kind of secretive on here. It says they got tomatoes, onions,
chiles but doesn't say exactly which kind, garlic, salt, lemon juice, and spices.
so let's give it
a shot.
It has a ton of spices in there so
definitely tasty.
I like that, you can taste the pepper they got in there
I like that
I think this actually edges out
the Native Texan Salsa
I am going to give this one 4 out of 5 on my personal preference scale
It's definitely pretty tasty
but as far as the spicy scale 1 to 10
this was just a
tiny bit hotter. I am going to give it 3 out of 10 on that.
but if you guys have tried either of these salsas out
definitely let me know what you guys think and don't forget
the right sauce makes all the difference.
