How to Remove Christmas Tree Sap. Christmas tree sap can be difficult to remove once it
hardens. Use these household products to make it easier to remove. You will need Mayonnaise
Soap Bug repellent Stiff brush Hand sanitizer Rubbing alcohol Baking soda Christmas tree
bag Pure soap (optional) Shortening (optional) Mineral spirits (optional) and light-duty
buffing compound (optional). Step 1. Take sticky sap out of your hair by applying a
little mayonnaise. Let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse. Pure soap and shortening will
also help. Step 2. Remove sap from your hands by rubbing mayonnaise on them. Wash your hands
with soap and water. Step 3. Take out sap from your carpet by spraying bug repellent
on the stain. Scrub with a stiff brush and rinse with water. Step 4. Remove sap from
clothes by rubbing hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol on the area. This works well on polyester,
cotton, and fleece. Step 5. Remove sap from your car by mixing a solution of 1 cup baking
soda and 3 cups hot water. Rubbing mineral spirits or a light-duty buffing compound on
the car will also work. Step 6. Rinse the car with this solution. Then wash the car
as usual. Wrap your Christmas tree in a tree bag and bring it to a recycling center when
