My favorite thing thing about the Five Colleges is the Five College interlibrary loan system.
You go online and request a book on our Web page.
Then within two days the books are here, pick them up, return them,
and we take care of the rest.
I requested a book on Sunday night and it was here Monday afternoon.
You request them and then they come. It's pretty nice.
I can to to any of the other libraries or I can borrow books from any of the other libraries,
but also I can take their courses.
They gave me a different perspective from being in the women's college environment
to going to a coed university setting.
You can go anywhere, and there is always something for you to do.
Theatre performances from all over the world.
I'm involved in the UMass Ballroom team.
Anyone can join from the Five Colleges actually. Mount Holyoke probably has the most outside
of UMass. Our captain is a Mount Holyoke student.
The PVTA is really convenient it runs on schedule, especially to UMass.
The PVTA is the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority and it's a bus that runs
between the Five Colleges in western Mass.
I think overall it's a good form of transportation for college students
considering there are other colleges within the area.
I used it quite often to get to and from class. I've taken three classes off campus and used it
I have my own car on campus and I actually prefer using the PVTA
over driving my car. It saved me on gas money and parking fees
up in Amherst. It has free Wifi
so I was able to do email while I was on the bus.
It's really easy to get around the other campuses and
get a feel for their environments, but in the end this is home.
