What up, ya'll? My name is Tweet Boogie. I represent the South Bronx. Had my first hip
hop crew at fourteen. I've done some work with Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child,
traveled all over the world, because I teach hip hop culture. Right now I'm ready to teach
you some dances for the club. Let's get started. My partner and I, we're about to show you
how to slow grind. Have your partner just in front of you: I have my partner just in
front of me. So Ladies, you can take your arms around their necks, place them very nicely,
like a lady; don't pull on them. They might seem like it's a little too aggressive, but
I think they want you to stay nice and sweet, yes? So, males, no grabbing, no touchy-touchy.
A very nice easy way to touch a female (a lady) would be to place your hands on our
hips. That would be it. Because if you don't know the person, you don't want to be too
close and then you ruin the moment and then you can't dance with the person. So, I'm going
to grind to the back, he's going to grind towards me. Very slowly we're going to go
at the same time--circular motion, circular motion, circular motion. This is so you can
still keep space between you, so if you wanted to drop your arm (I'm dropping one arm), we're
still grinding together. But, our bodies don't have to touch completely, even though I can
still grind with him. It's very respectful, it's still intimate, and it's not tasteless.
It doesn't always have to be raunchy, especially when it's somebody you're meeting fr the first
time or you're on a first date. We're going to try this with our DJ. He's going to turn
the music on and we're going to slow grind. Give a little eye contact; you're interested!
Five, six, seven, eight, and slow, and slow, and slow, and slow. Now you might want to
drop your arm, leave one down, good. There's still space between you, but he's showing
some interest, and leave one arm on his neck and his shoulders. Good! That, right there,
is how you slow grind.
