What's going on everybody! My name is Jack
Jenkins and this is Academy of One. Today
is the first video on computer
hardware. Now first, let me tell you what this class
is about. Computer hardware is a ten
part class on computer
Now for this I'm gonna be
taking apart my old computer and showing you some of the parts
that are within it. So I should point
out that yes this is indeed a miniseries which means it
be ten videos. And within these ten videos we're gonna
be taking a look at eight different computer parts.
Such as the memory, hard drive and
CPU. Now there are no
requirements to take this class so you can just come on in
and jump in and learn about the computer. Now the
second thing I want to point out to you is that
computer hardware is a prerequisite for the
computer architecture class that is coming up and I should
tell you what the difference is. So In this
computer hardware classes, we're gonna be doing
uhm, very basic stuff.
For instance, I'll be telling you what a hard drive is.
Or what a processor is. And in computer
architecture I'll be going into much more detail such as
microprocessing design... uhm
parallel design, why...
just a whole bunch more, alot more detail and the computer
architecture course is actually a full 50 videos
where as this is just ten videos just explaining
the basics. Now this is a pretty important class
if you wanna do, lets say your a+.
Cause we'll be going through all the simple things that will be going inside here.
And another thing I should point out is
I don't have a camera yet so unfortunately
oops... drop that a little too hard. So unfortunately
I'm just gonna be
grabbing this... holding it up to the camera
and hoping that it focused.
So, why don't you come on in
and we'll get started right
now.
