Gennady Zyuganov, the head of the State Duma fraction of the Communist Party of RF
We are united by the great, powerful, beautiful Russian language.
Due to our initiative the president signed the order on marking Russian Language Day
on the date of Alexander Pushkin’s birth.
Vladimir Nikitin, the State Duma member
We believe that Russian Language Day is a holiday
which is of high necessity for Russia to preserve its integrity and improve its strength.
For every nation mother language is its main shrine.
Pushkin said that a language is people.
We were glad that the new president Vladimir Putin said that this holiday should receive more attention.
We noticed that the chairman of the government Medvedev
ordered to develop a plan of arrangements on celebrating the event till 2016.
But we are concerned about the fact
that these words have nothing in common with organization arrangements in regions.
We, the Communist Party and numerous organizations of the movement “Russky Lad”
have developed a certain program of marking this holiday in 2013.
At 12 o’clock flowers will be laid to Pushkin monument in Moscow.
In the State Duma hearings on “Legislative providing of development of the Russian language
in the modern information space” will take place.
An exhibition of the Russian-Kyrgyz Slavic University will be organized.
At 2 p.m. people’s festival will take place near the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army;
more than 40 social organizations will participate in it.
Songs, dances, people will read poems.
Students of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia from various countries will take part in it.
Work-shops, craft exhibitions.
We will demonstrate strength of our warriors and the Russian people military art at a special platform.
We have made a very important step in this direction in the North Caucasus,
a difficult and important region.
2000 students from 10 leading universities gathered in the Letny Theater of Pyatigorsk for the first time.
Dmitry Novikov, the deputy chairman of CPRF
We initiated the idea together with the movement “Russky Lad”.
And we want this initiative which probably receives insignificant support from the top
to receive huge support from the bottom and become a real big national holiday,
Russian Language Day devoted to birthday of Alexander Pushkin.
That was the aim of the event which was mentioned by Mr. Zyuganov.
We held it on May 31st and June 1st in the Caucasus Mineralnye Vody,
including Zheleznovodsk, Pyatigorsk.
Pyatigorsk hosted the largest event of Pushkin Days in the North Caucasus
where not only representatives of our 13 party entities from all regions
of the South and the North Caucasus Federal Districts took place, but also a big group of students.
They performed at the stage, presented their works, were awarded with prizes for previous contests.
Other students greeted and supported their colleagues as the audience.
Neither Lezgins nor Avars nor Ossetians, nor Karachays who participated in the arrangements
spoke with such a pain about problems of their mother tongues
as they spoke about problems of the Russian language.
They understand that this is what unites us all and makes us the united Russian Federation.
Rasul Gamzatov once said that
“I would remain a poet of one gorge, if I weren’t translated into beautiful Russian.”
The Russian language gathers and unites us today.
It gives an opportunity to develop to every nation.
