I think that the most important thing would be, dealing with anyone with a spinal-cord
injury, is to, you know, give them their space. Give them your support when they need it or
when they ask for it, but always turn around and encourage it. A lot times, people—and
I had this growing up—but a lot of people always say: “you can’t do this, or you
can’t do that or you shouldn’t do this.” And, you know, you kind of get tired of hearing
people tell you, you can’t do something. And then, unfortunately, you may do something
stupid, and you need to be told “you can’t do that,” but you know, you got to be able
to, you know, support the individual, but you have to at least give them the encouragement
to try.
