HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES
You want to go into your Main Menu of your Class- Web account
and click on “Student Services & Financial Aid.”
Then click on “Registration.”
Click on “Add/Drop or Withdraw from Classes.”
Make sure that the correct term comes up for you in the drop menu.
For this example, we are using Spring 2009. Then click on “Submit.”
If you know your Course Reference Number (CRN), you can actually enter it here.
For this example, let’s do class searches by clicking on “Class Search.”
What we want to do is search for classes that are available that
you are interested in taking and to find out if there are any
seats available. What I am going to use first is History as
an example. When History is listed twice, make sure to click
on the second item “History LPC” that denotes that it is held
here at Las Positas College (LPC). For the Campus section,
make sure to click on “Las Positas College.” Then click on “Class Search.”
Here you see, for example, the CRN # (31544) for this History 1 class.
It’s 3 credits, the title of the class “Western Civilization to 1600,” the day that it meets—
Tuesdays, and times—7:00 pm – 9:50pm. This class is capped at 45, there are
43 student enrolled and 2 remaining seats available.
So, if you are interested in taking this class, you can click
on the box to select it. If you scroll all the way across, you
will be able to see who is the instructor, the date range of
when this class meets and the room location.
What we want to do is to scroll down the page to History 8-- US
History. So, here I wanted to show you the CRN #, 30079, for
History 8 that is 3 units, US History Post- Reconstruction.
When it reads “TR” that means that the class meets Tuesdays
AND Thursdays. “R” stands for Thursdays, from 2:00pm-3:15 pm.
There are 9 seats available. So we are going to click on this
one for History 8 and click on “Register.”
So here, it tells you your current schedule. You have
registered for History 8 for 3 units and that is what you are
enrolled in. You can then add more CRN numbers or continue
with more class searches by clicking on “Class Search.”
Another example I am going to give you is a Psychology class.
So, Psychology is only listed once so click on that. Again,
make sure to click on Las Positas College in the Campus section and do a “Class Search.”
When a class is full, there are no boxes for you to click on.
So for this example, Psych 1, CRN #: 30949, General
Psychology, it’s capped at 45 and there are 45 students
enrolled. Thus, there are zero seats remaining.
I’m going to go all the way down to Psych 15, Problems of
Childhood. Again, this class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays,
from 12:30 pm -1:45 pm. There are 11 seats remaining. Click
on the box and then click on “Register.”
So you can see on this page, that I am registered for History
8 and Psych 15. You can continue using “Class Search” to
add any additional classes you might want to register for.
Click on “Return to Menu” at the top of the page to look at your
actual class schedule by day and time.
Click on “”Student Schedule by Day & Time”
You can see my schedule. Psych 15 that meets 12:30 pm-1:45 pm
and then I have a History class that meets from 2:00 pm-3:15 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Make sure to review your class schedule. Save or print out
your schedule so you actually have a record for your own file.
