Hi, I'm Karel from the U.S. Embassy in Brussels. Together with my colleagues, Ari and Ira,
we are organising the Brussels leg of the roadshow. Now we are very happy to have more
than fifteen of you guys joining us at this event. In line with last year, we are expecting
more than eighty potential investors in Brussels. Now in this podcast we will talk about three
things. We will talk about the event shortly, about logistics, and what we need from you.
Let's start with the event. The goal of the event is to promote foreign investment in
the U.S. Now we would like to give you the opportunity to promote your state, your region,
your locality here in Brussels. The event will start at nine a.m. and will end at two
p.m. Now we would like you to be in time, thirty minutes in advance, so you have the
time to set up, to put together your table. During the event, there will be two moments
where you will be able to meet potential investors. There is a coffee break, which will, which
will last around 45 minutes and there is the walking lunch which will start at twelve.
These networking moments will be varied by speeches and by testimonials. Hi, I'm Ira.
Let's go over logistics and travel. Our program starts at nine o'clock in the morning at the
Ambassador's residence. However, as mentioned before, we ask you to be there thirty minutes
early to set up. That also means you need to make you way over from Hanover to Belgium
sometime during the weekend, Sunday latest. The U.S. Embassy has agreements with hotels
and preferential rates. We can make a reservation for you in one of three different hotels that
are conveniently located close to the Ambassador's resident. If this is for you, please let Ari
know about this. You can take a train from Hanover to Brussels, but it is a long and
tedious journey. We don't recommend it. We do recommend you take a plane. Zaventem Airport,
Brussels Airport is located right outside of the city and if you take a cab, expect
to take about fifteen minutes to get from the airport to your hotel and pay about forty
euros. To catch a cab, all you need to do is exit the transit zone, go straight in front
of you, and about a hundred feet later, you'll have a line of cabs waiting for you. Once
you get to your hotel, you'll have an information folder waiting for you, which will give you
the latest updates of our program and more details about the event. When you check out
Monday morning to go to the Ambassador's residence, please take your luggage with you and we'll
store that at the Ambassador's residence because then you can take it along with you straight
to the train station. The event ends at two p.m., but expect people to hang around and
talk shop for maybe another thirty to sixty minutes. So give yourself about ninety minutes
to get to the train station, which includes about thirty minutes of commute to get to
the train station. From then on, it's going to be a two-hour travel to get to your next
stop in The Netherlands. Hi, my name is Ari. I need the following from you. If you need
help for the booking of your hotel, please let me know. I'll be glad to do that for you.
If you want me to book your trip ticket, I can do that too. Just bear in mind that it's
really important for you to book your train ticket in advance, otherwise the train going
to be fully booked. I also need a logo in high resolution. Really important, a one pager
promoting your region and with your contact details. It's going to be put out in the handout.
Really important for you to have also a pull-up sign. All your marketing material could be
shipped to us, to our U.S. mailing address. For any other information, other concern,
you can get back to me through emails. Hi again, I hope we provided you with sufficient
information on the show and we are looking forward to seeing you in Brussels.
