Hello there on behalf of ExpertVillage.com my name is Candance Copeland. I'm going to
be pointing out some special features of the raw hide art that I've been creating. Just
to give you an idea of the different foot prints that each piece has every piece of
hide has a different like our hand print and some of them are not all deer. This particular
one that I'm going to talk about now is made out of antelope it's a rougher type of hide.
It was harder to get detail it's thicker. It just was much more of a challenge. However,
it did come out with this really ancient look to it's face. It looks like he has been out
on the prairie. He has lived a life and he is proud of it and here is his shield, this
is a blackfoot shield, out of the Dakota area and up here we have the buffalo skull which
was very scared to all of the Native Americans. So then we took all of this and went ahead
and I put it on this back ground and tried to make it look as if were on fire over the
night skies when they would have their fires to cook the meat that maybe that they had
captured that day. So this happens to be the same mold as the ones we looked at previously
but again no resemblance.
