My name is Iwan Thomas, and I live in Pentir near Bangor.
I've been living here for over 30 years.
I've been working on this garden for 15 years with my wife, Lisa.
This year, our garden has been accepted in the Yellow Book.
This year, the National Gardens Scheme has been going on for 85 years.
Over the years, the NGS has raised millions of pounds for nursing charities in particular.
Belinda Thompson will be opening up her garden for the public.
Belinda has been ill with ME...
...Her aim was to open up her garden once she recovered from the illness.
Because her garden is relatively small...
...The scheme was keen on keeping people in the local area...
...So, she asked me to help out by opening up my garden.
Now, both our gardens will be open at the same time.
I'm a bit nervous, because I'm not sure the garden is good enough.
Personally, I think it is, although I'm a little biased!
Over the years, we've done a lot of work.
And ever since I retired, I've been living in the garden!
The idea is to have a colour scheme or something interesting in the garden throughout the year.
We have a lot of perennials that don't require a lot of work.
A lot of bulbs come through this time of year especially.
We try to keep it relatively low maintenance.
This is where I grow vegetables in these raised beds.
I built these beds before my hip replacement.
I don't have much space, so I don't grow vegetables like potatoes.
I have a lot of salad plants usually.
We have a lot of gooseberries, red currants and blackcurrants at the far end.
We have strawberries, tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse.
My favourite part is the summer house.
I find it very therapeutic.
Since the terrace faces south, it acts as a sun trap.
It's always warm there.
