I'm ready to hit a golf shot.
And you're coming up with a doggone soccer ball?
>> [MUSIC]
>> Man, I love playing California.
There's so many incredible golf courses out here.
Pebble Beach, Spy Glass, Riviera, Bellaire.
>> Those are all really great courses.
But I will say I've got something a little more unique.
>> Okay, then.
>> All I know is that my game is seriously tight right now.
>> You're never at a a lack of confidence, that's what I like about you.
Hey everybody I'm Charles Kelly from Lady Antebellum, and
when I'm not playing music I'm out here playing golf.
And now I'm on the ultimate golf trip as I try to finally beat my big brother John,
with a little help from my celebrity friends.
[MUSIC]
>> Okay.
We're gonna make this thing happen.
We are here, Arcadia- >> Par 3.
Golf Course, never heard of it.
[MUSIC]
You go warm up.
I'll be back.
>> I got it. >> I gotta go do something.
>> Okay, I'll be over here warming up.
Perfect. [MUSIC]
>> Hope >> Charles, what's up?
>> How are you doing? >> Good to see you.
>> Good to see you sweetie.
[MUSIC]
>> I brought you cuz I've got my old brother here.
I cannot get his voice out of my head.
He's been beating me at golf our whole lives.
I wanna take him down today.
So I thought maybe we could team up.
I needed somebody that I know is really competitive, and that's why I got you.
It's going to be fun.
>> I like to win.
>> It's going to be fun.
>> Well, that sounds great.
Why are you letting your older brother get to you?
>> I don't know. It's just one of those things.
He's 10 years older than me.
He's always picked on me.
>> Well, you have some demons to work through because you can't let your
insecurities get to you.
>> I do. I agree. >> You wanted to beat your brother at something, right?
>> Yeah. >> You wanted to beat him at golf.
>> Yup. This is foot golf.
>> Okay.
>> It's just like regular golf, but you use soccer balls.
>> And I've got one of the greatest soccer players of all time,
I don't see how we can lose.
>> Woo.
[LAUGH] That is solid.
Charles can bring anybody he wants today.
I'm fired up about this golf course.
I'm fired up about the way I'm hitting it.
>> [SOUND] >> So when you get ready for soccer,
what do you do?
>> I like to warm up.
Kinda get rid of all the nerves.
Cuz to be honest, I get nervous before every performance.
>> Really? >> It doesn't matter how good you are.
>> Yeah. >> I don't know if you get
nervous on stage.
I do.
>> I do believe that some of the best athletes,
best artist do great when there's a lot of pressure.
We won gold in England in 2012 we played
at Wembley Stadium in front of 82,000 people.
They were all against America.
>> Wow. >> And
there's a moment in the game where they shifted and
they started cheering for America.
>> How about that.
>> It was one the coolest moments.
>> I watched it.
We were actually on the road, on tour and we got so into that.
You know I have to admit I'm not the biggest soccer fan in the world,
but during that time in women's soccer it's like the coolest thing in the world.
>> Well you know I'm not the biggest country fan either.
>> But I do love Lady Antebellum.
>> Good, good. >> So we're gonna warm up.
All right so.
>> What do we do?
>> We feel our natural flow of our own bodies.
Feel good in your own body so get it moving.
>> I don't, I've never felt good in my own body.
[MUSIC]
I shouldn't have worn such tight pants.
[MUSIC]
I mean, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
>> Look good, feel good, play good, that's my motto.
I think you're ready. >> All right, let's do this thing.
Man, look at this guy.
He thinks we're actually playing golf.
How we doing buddy, you feeling prepared?
>> What is this?
>> We're not exactly playing golf, you're probably not gonna need those clubs.
>> How are you doing?
Good Lord.
My God, what a privilege.
>> Hope has something planned for us, this is football
>> My goodness gracious.
You got to be kidding me.
I'm ready to hit a golf shot and you're coming up with a doggone soccer ball?
>> It's not that much different than your type of golf.
>> I tell you, there's back in the day, old soccer days I used to play.
So you know what?
I'm game for anything.
I told you this 1,000 times I'll take you on any time, any place.
And whatever you bring to the table, I'm in.
>> I have brought Hope, in more ways than one.
>> You need a lot of hope.
>> You've got an arrogant older brother, don't you?
>> Let's do this thing. [MUSIC]
Help me out here, what are we doing?
>> It's a par three and you play it just like golf.
>> Me against you all, Hope and my best score versus yours.
>> Okay. So what are we playing for?
>> Loser has to face me in a penalty kick shoot out.
>> My God. I do not want to be in that goal.
>> Okay let's get this over with because you all think you got game.
This is still on the golf course.
>> So who has the honors?
Who wants to start?
>> I'll step up.
[MUSIC]
>> You ever heard of a duff in golf?
>> Don't let him get in your head.
Just do you.
Do you Hope.
>> Do me.
[MUSIC]
>> Love it.
What a great shot.
>> That was awesome.
>> Good shot.
>> All right Johnny, don't pull a hammy.
[MUSIC]
>> Whoa.
[LAUGH] That's so bad.
>> Get over there.
You used to play soccer?
>> Well I was trying to play a low burner and I kinda of pulled hook yeah.
Where is the?
>> No that's part of it.
>> Come on.
[MUSIC]
>> Good kick, right next to me Charles.
>> Go. >> [LAUGH]
>> No.
>> Unbelievable you set me up this time.
This game ain't over.
[MUSIC]
>> Did you just move your ball?
>> Do you want me to have a broken ankle?
I mean it was right here.
>> But come on.
>> Back there it looked like it was right here.
>> All right, look, it's right here.
>> Were you already cheating when we weren't looking?
>> No. >> You know maybe that's why he's
always beat me.
>> That's a low blow.
>> That's it, put it where you think it is.
>> Listen, if that's the kinda way you play golf,
you're the guy that has to go home and go to bed at night knowing what you did.
[MUSIC]
>> Pretty damn good.
>> Go, go, go.
>> Okay, stay right there.
Stay.
Okay. Woo okay then.
>> Bend, bend, bend, bend.
>> Not bad, not bad.
>> Luckily I got my ringer.
>> [MUSIC]
>> The beautiful thing about golf is there's all kinds
of- >> Shut up, John.
>> Slow down, slow down.
>> Not bad at all?
>> Sit down. Stop!
>> No!
***!
Come on!
>> I'll take it. I'll take it.
[MUSIC]
>> Going high or low?
>> I'm thinking we'll go high, and then low.
>> [LAUGH] >> But
I'm pretty much sure this had to go in, or I'm out.
[MUSIC]
>> That's got to sit.
>> That's gone.
>> Needs to sit.
>> And then there was two.
>> I'm out.
[MUSIC]
>> Uh-oh.
Got to sit.
>> Baby. >> Man, yikes.
>> Do you want to chip it?
>> Toe chip.
>> I like that you still think you've got it.
[LAUGH] It's not looking good.
My goodness.
This is ridiculous.
This footgolf is insane.
Hope, put me out of my misery, please.
>> For the win. >> For the win, baby.
Dead center! Congratulations.
I really,
really have enjoyed this foot golf exercise I'm sticking to regular golf.
[MUSIC]
>> Give me a little bit of rules here.
>> You have to stay on the line.
You can move lateral.
>> As much as you want.
>> Can I fake you out?
>> You can try.
>> [LAUGH] >> This is it.
You don't have any other protection?
>> You got a cup on?
>> [LAUGH] >> You might need it.
Your move might need to be this.
>> Yeah. >> All right, Johnny.
>> Have mercy. >> You ready?
>> This would not look good, beating up an old man.
Nobody gets done with playing golf beat up.
I mean, lets face it.
[MUSIC]
[LAUGH] >> That was easy.
>> Good effort!
I thought I'd go easy on the first one.
[MUSIC]
>> Nice! [MUSIC].
>> Wow.
That was really hard.
>> [LAUGH] >> You almost took his head off.
[MUSIC]
>> Right Adam.
>> You're gonna go for a corner.
>> Can't say I wasn't trying to.
[MUSIC]
>> Left one.
>> Yeah left one.
[MUSIC]
That was trying to pull the old goalie [LAUGH].
[MUSIC].
>> One, two, three.
>> I love to play with this.
[LAUGH] >> All right, I think we proved our point.
>> Best workout I've got in a long time.
>> I know.
>> It's not easy.
>> Unbelievable, yes.
>> Thank you for joining me.
>> Thank you for having me.
Thank you, its good to see you.
>> Thank you.
>> All right, you all ready?
Lets get out of here.
>> Yes, lets do it.
