Hi fellow direct marketers. My name is Jessica Best and I am your 2014-2015 KCDMA Board President.
And I thought I'd send you a video today to give you an update on what we've been up to
since the new board year started in April. We've got our sights set on a big year this
year. And I mean BIG year. Not the least of which is that we want to see record-breaking
attendance like we did at the June lunch this year, with Trish from the Folding Factory.
And, we also want to make it a banner year to be exemplary marketers. We want to take
our own best practices into consideration and really be an example of that in our own
marketing for the Direct Marketing Association.
So, in that vein, I'm excited to announce that we're looking forward to making a brand
new brand. We're going to do a brand refresh on KCDMA, complete with a new website. So,
we're excited to have that request for proposals out currently. Check your inbox for more information.
Or you can find both requests for proposal on KCDMA.org. If you know a website and/or
brand company -- we actually have 2 request for proposals out -- and we'd love to have
you send that on to anybody you think should apply.
In order to fund our new efforts, we are also beefing up our fundraising this year. The
golf fundraiser is shaping up to be a big one, complete with hopefully more golfers,
but also, if you're a not pro golfer, like me, we have a brand new limes and links clinic.
You can take golf lessons from a pro and have margaritas or beer if you prefer. That'll
be a really fun way to get even more people involved in our fundraiser. Keep your ears
peeled. We may have a couple of other things in the line-up for that as well.
We also are excited to announce new sponsorships this year. Big thank you to MCH Strategic
Data for being our newest Gold sponsor. They, along with our longtime Crown Sponsor, ***
Olson, are part of the reason we can do this brand refresh this year. They help support
initiatives like this one, taking us forward into the next century of what direct marketing
really needs to look like, and that includes our digital direct.

Last but not least, we want to get to know our members a lot better this year. An example
of that, a couple weeks ago -- July 23rd -- we had a joint happy hour with 7 other marketing
associations here in Kansas City. And had 180 people come. AdFarm was a great host.
We were very excited to meet some of our other Marketing Association pals. It was a great
chance to meet other people.
I hope I get to meet YOU this year. We've got a luncheon coming up this August and of
course the Golf tournament later this month. Look for me, I'll be the one with the gold
nametag that says President. Or look for anybody on the KCDMA board. We're looking forward
to meeting you.
