JACOB SOBOROFF: Hey, it's Jacob.
Today we got MJ's new video, the sharp-dressed men of the Congo,
and Hero Cat to the rescue!
[DOG GROWLS]
[CHILD SCREAMS]
[THUD]
FEMALE SPEAKER: Hey!
When did you get in?
JACOB SOBOROFF: Guys, it is so hard to believe,
but this is our 100th episode.
We have been here every day for four months,
bringing you the absolute best stuff to watch.
We want to say thank you so much to all of you
guys who keep coming back.
Now, it's been five years since Michael Jackson's
untimely death, but the King of Pop
has a brand new album of never before heard music.
This music video was just released
to coincide with the album dropping this week,
and it's already got almost 2 million views.
It features Justin Timberlake in a kind of duet with Michael.
[MUSIC - MICHAEL JACKSON/JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE,
"LOVE NEVER FELT SO GOOD"]
Each of the eight tracks on the album, which is called XSCAPE,
were actually recorded between 1983 and 1999,
and they were paired up with a producer
to sort of contemporize the music.
I love the homages to MJ's iconic videos.
It's so incredible how timeless his music is.
JOE BERETA: Hey, YouTube nation.
My name's Joe Bereta.
I am visiting from the source-fed offices, where
I'm the head writer and co-host.
Fair warning-- what I'm about to show you
is slightly disturbing, but mostly awesome.
So spoiler alert, you're about to see the coolest thing
a cat has ever done.
It's everywhere.
It's got over 7 million views, and it was just
posted yesterday.
What you're seeing here is a kid innocently riding his bike
in the driveway when, all of a sudden, out of the blue,
a dog attacks him.
And you think you're about to watch the worst thing you've
ever seen in your life until boom!
Cat parkour-kick to the face.
Cat saves the day.
Thankfully, the little kid is all right.
He's just walking away with a couple stitches
and an everlasting love of cats.
And if you want to check out something that we do,
go over to youtube.com/sourcefed this weekend on Saturday
and check out "Five things you missed this week."
This cat is not one of them.
JACOB SOBOROFF: I used to think it was totally acceptable to do
my grocery runs in short shorts and knee-high socks,
but after watching this video, it
sounds like I might need to up my fashion game.
This short doc gives a firsthand look
at the Sapeurs of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
There are group of blue-collar guys
with a passion for the cut of a good suit.
MALE SPEAKER: After years of civil war,
peace has returned to Brazzaville.
And with it, a group of extraordinary men-- the
Sapeurs.
MALE SPEAKER: [SPEAKING FRENCH]
JACOB SOBOROFF: This is actually part of an ongoing ad
campaign for Guinness, which just
shows everyday people doing extraordinary things.
You might know Ilana Glazer as one half of the Comedy
Central hit "Broad City."
But she also has her own web series,
and it turns out she's something of a gaming savant.
ILANA GLAZER: Today we are playing "Sid Meiers'-- Jew--
Civilization IV."
World size-- huge.
What if I want it super tiny?
I know nothing about games or gaming, I have to tell you.
If you didn't get that from Season One, you're thick.
JACOB SOBOROFF: OK, I lied.
She's certifiably terrible at gaming,
but she's made an entire show out of it.
Lest you think all she does is fail at Civ IV,
she also offers choice words on life, love,
and the art of cooking.
ILANA GLAZER: One of my favorite recipes of all time--
"recipes"-- is a bowl of cereal-- Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
The bowl I like to use for my Cinnamon Toast Crunch
is this big old salad bowl.
All you gotta do now is enjoy this [BLEEP].
JACOB SOBOROFF: Season Two of "Chronic Gamer Girl"
is coming to a close, but you're only a click away
from catching up on her channel.
Warning-- very not safe for work.
ALEX: In 2007, a video of a blender versus an iPhone
was released, and I forever wanted to blend everything.
It features destructive guru and founder
of Blendtec, Tom Dixon, who has been blending things for years
to prove that his blender can turn anything into a smoothie.
I love my new iPhone, but will it blend?
Let's find out.
[CRUNCHING NOISES]
ALEX: Look at that!
He turned it to dust.
Every video ends the same.
He pops the top and says--
TOM DIXON: Don't breathe this.
ALEX: Tom is still dominating the blender market.
And in his latest video, he takes on the Elf on a Shelf.
Go watch that.
Now!
JACOB SOBOROFF: We have been getting a ton of great comments
from you guys, and we wanted to take a moment to address a few.
Roberto Blake writes, "how can my Graphic Design YouTube
Channel become a featured channel on YouTube Nation?"
Roberto, anybody can be featured on the show.
If you've made or you found a really great video that you
want us to see, all you've got to do
is post a link to it in comments.
YaBoySL writes, "where's Miles?"
He's right over there.
MILES: What?
JACOB SOBOROFF: And Jacob Frey writes,
"I love the music video cameos."
Well, Jacob, first of all, great name.
Second of all, you're in luck, because in honor
of our 100th episode, we've put together a very special video
tour through our last 18 weeks of outros.
There's a link in the description.
And now for the 100th YouTube Nation outro ever.
Play us out "'80s Aerobic Dance Battle."
