Good morning, happy Thursday and welcome to Morning Chadder
I've been working for a while now on series of children's books.
I have an illustrator; Crystal, who has been working
with me. And we are developing a series called Fenton The Farrier. Which is
similar to Amelia Bedelia, but it's... a different twist and it involves horses
and a farrier of course, which is somebody who does horse shoes on horses.
Children's books are a lot of fun on several different levels.
They usually do a good job with rhyme and the illustrations can be a lot of fun
and exciting to put together. In general, they just seem to have a lighter
tone. Which makes them, sometimes more fun to produce
than a novel, it's something that... there's a lot of
illustration that goes into it and story-boarding. But it almost feels like you're designing
a comicbook or a film. Rather than a book, which is kind
of cool. So far the illustrations are really cute and
I think the kids will love it. So, I've been thinking
about children's books in general lately. And I was looking
at Publisher's Weekly and Green Eggs & Ham by
Dr. Seuss, which was written in 1964 I believe 1963 or 1964. It is at #1 for children's books
for sales for 394th week! It's that old of a book
and it's still #1 book. So, when I was a child I used to read a book called "The Best Nest"
which was by P.D. Eastman, one of my favorite
children's books of all time. And I would like to know, what was your favorite
childhood book?
What did you enjoy more than anything? So, let me know your thoughts. Be sure to
