Bradley Manning has been sentenced today he will serve
35 years in prison now I'm not very happy about this
but there are two sizes discussion on the one hand
this is good news because originally it was supposed to be a hundred twenty
years
maximum and it is not that whole sentence the judge had not that down to
ninety years maximum
but now we get the final ruling the final ruling is it will be a
a total of 35 years ok or something you should be serving any time I think the
time he served is sufficient and I don't think even really committed a crime
as always play more in a second but he's gonna be eligible for parole
in eight years when he is 33 years old
whether or not he'll get the parole is a different story there's no way of
knowing
all whether or not they'll be more lenient or more a strict with him in
terms of
good behavior paying off for not paying off if I had to guess
and keep in mind this is a pure gas I'm not basing this on anything
I would say they're more likely to not give him
a grant him parole because the Obama administration and the government
generally establishment pizza
they feel betrayed by him because he felt like
he had a responsibility to the american people and not to the people in power
he a kinda put up his middle finger to the all-boys club into the establishment
said
know I care about the american public not about you but I keep in mind the
government was
unable to prove their biggest charge against Manning
which is that he aided the enemy I mean that's absurd at face value
they couldn't produce any evidence
almost single example of his information
Helping the Enemy specifically helping out Qaeda
in fact if that reasoning held true and they did somehow convict him on that
you can basically say any journalist in the country
as helping out al Qaeda simply by releasing new stories
I mean we always release new stories a lot of them have to do with the war on
terror
I mean their reasoning is a year lease information I might have held out caught
in one way or another
any journalist you can saying that's the case for
so of course they didn't get a conviction on that however they were
somehow able to get a conviction on six counts of espionage
now when you look at the definition of espionage
it typically has to do with governments other governments
so who is Bradley Manning spying for which government was at the russians
was it I don't know you tell me the north koreans
no of course he wasn't doing espionage that's absurd if anything and I've heard
many
a journalist point this out in progressive commentators they said
if anything he spying for the american people
there's nothing wrong with that in fact that's the whole idea the first
amendment is what every mother
freedom of speech freemen oppress in order to get out information so we can
make
come to rational conclusions about the direction of policy
specifically in this case foreign policy now
understand what did many do
well he released classified documents
that exposed war crimes exposed
poor sure and abuse and it showed our soldiers all laughing
as they killed civilians and Reuters journalists
from an Apache helicopter that is probably what he's most known for
he had leaked that information to WikiLeaks and it was a big story
that oh my god our soldiers just flat-out murdered a budget journalists
so the reason why he released it he said look I had a moral problem with it
this isn't classified information something that classifies like the
nuclear launch codes
what the *** does this have to do with classified information we need to
release this information so that the american people can tell their
politicians we want out
a rack or we want our about guest and were supposed to be
making allies over there and spreading democracy but we're killing civilians
and we have the video tape to prove it
now here's where this gets absolutely maddening and you feel like you live in
the twilight zone
how many other people
that committed the war crimes got time in prison
how many other people in the Apache helicopter who we know
killed journalist as we have it on tape we know that they didn't know it was an
insurgent or terrorist or somebody else
how many them I want to present 0
how many of them had a trial 0
how about the people who approve the torture program
when you go as high up as George W Bush and *** Cheney or you go lower
on on the wrong people in the CIA we go for the people the justice department at
signed off on it
or other people who actually just physically head in the torture program
ended the torture
the head of torture at Abu great for example how much time did he get
no time whatsoever so get this if you commit war crimes
you don't go to jail but if you talk about committing war crimes
you go to jail in what world does this make sense
now actually gets worse and I know it it's almost impossible how to get worse
later this quote
after fourteen-month investigation that many stream in at
ok want to go was cruel inhuman and degrading
the judge said the conditions had been excessive
in relation to the government's legitimate interest in holding Manning
so she granted the soldier in additional or 112 days credit for indoor in those
conditions
so Bradley Manning was a isolated
for nine months Susan Salter can find for nine months
okay talk to any psychological expert best torture
no if ands or buts about you go insane right
so the judge at all well bed maybe it was a little
excessive forgive you 112 days off a year
35-year sentence Paul you're so kind judge let me tell you
and get this Manning sentenced is one year longer
than that given to a man who offered to sell secrets to Iraq during the first
Gulf War
is not incredible somebody who actually committed treason
was actually a traitor got less time the Bradley Manning
cool but was looking out for the american people and release relevant
information
and flat-out do the job depressed prices supposed to do
and I got one more I'll
he also his prison sentences five-year years longer
than that of a man who passed quote sophisticated defense secrets
to communist East Germany
serving more time in prison again over an actual
person who committed treason an actual trader
it's beyond ridiculous I can't believe this is happening in the United States
of America
today it feels like we live in a comical Banana Republic
free Bradley Manning ASAP
