Hi, I'm Katherine and this is The Take Out.
On the show today:
Difficult Equation, insect invasion, and weird construction.
We're also giving away an Xperia Tablet Z.
Isn't she pretty? I take her kayaking with me.
Because none of my human friends will come.
For your chance to win, click on the Xperia Lounge app link.
And you'll also find links to watch everything featured in the show in full.
While you're there, why not click subscribe to take in The Take Out every week.
Wanna see Christoph Waltz's bum?
Then you should probably watch Terry Gilliam's new film, The Zero Theorem.
The film is set in a weird future where Christoph Waltz's character,
Qohen, is searching for for the meaning of life.
'What seems to be the problem?'
'We are dying.'
'Who's we?'
'Us, ourselves.'
'But there's only one of you.'
'So it would appear.'
Qohen's reactions to difficult maths equation are pretty similar to mine.
A lot of anger and day dreaming about holidays.
If you were to put Goldfrapp and Devo in a box together and shake it really hard
and peek in through a tiny hole
St. Vincent's 'Digital Witness' video was what would be happening inside.
I'm glad they included my footage from the blu-tac rolling, paper clip manipulation class.
Those girls were excellent students.
If a bit creepy.
YouTube users have already correctly identified that cats and ninjas are basically the same thing.
So it was only going to be a matter of time before this game was made.
Ninja Hero Cats is a battle between kitty cat friends with sword skills
and some highly suspect sea life.
Something pretty now.
'Cicada Princess' was funded by Kickstarter
and involved more than a hundred artists and collaborators
who brought it to life using puppets and CGI.
Based on a children's book written by Mauci Baiocchi
and beautifully narrated by Stephen Fry.
It tells the story of the two nights cicadas stay above ground
after spending sixteen years in the earth.
'In its insect pockets...
I found two tickets to the ball.
A checklist, a little bit of shiny string,
and what looked to me like a glass slipper.'
A swarm or real life cicadas can produce a swarm louder than a rock concert.
So try to focus on the cuteness of this film when your ears are bleeding.
That's all for this week.
Eoghan will be back next Thursday,
but in the mean time, there are links to everything featured in the show down below.
As is the competition link for the Xperia Lounge app.
Good luck.
