Now let's look at the empower aside.
Let's say that during the course of your storytime
you had this book "Shapes that Roll"
by Karen Nagel
And you had pointed out some items related to shapes and how they related to
letter knowledge
So now. let's look at what you might say for the and Empower Aside
In today's storytime we had the book "Shapes that Roll," where we talked about shapes
and the ways that, that helps children developed letter knowledge. But there are
lots of ways that you can help children recognize shapes while you are
playing with them.
So for example you might have a shape puzzle
and they're trying to match the shape
to the actual
puzzle
They have to turn it around
to make the the shape of match.
So that one way. But even if you have
at a puzzle that doesn't actually
have shapes. I am talking about circles and squares and so forth. Any puzzle
really helps a child discern shapes. Because they're trying to make
a match. In this case the shape of the bird to
the piece
back there.
So there's still matching shapes even if it isn't an exact
circle or a triangle.
You might also be helping them with
when you're playing
with the blocks. Of course playing with blocks there lots of different shapes
too blocks.
These blocks also have pictures that match
A silhouette and the actual item, so here's a mitten
and it's silhouette.
A shoe and it silhouette.
and when your children are matching shapes that is helping them.
It's the first step
to letter knowledge.
