ASHWITH: The problems in edX were real-world problems.
It means a lot in places where good education is not accessible.
It has the best teachers, the best community, and the best
infrastructure.
ANANT AGARWAL: The team at edX is revolutionizing education.
edX has built a sophisticated online platform to enable high quality
courses to be offered to students on campuses and worldwide.
edX is dramatically improving the quality of on campus education by
applying blended models to learning.
JAMIE L'HENREUX: edX is going to allow faculty to work one-on-one with
students in an engaging and hands-on environment.
HAROLD RIGGS: This course brings together students from all over the
world that wouldn't otherwise be talking to each other, saying hello,
or learning together.
JEFFERSON FERNANDES: The edX platform is taking that hard theory out of the
classroom and giving us more time to work on project-based
learning in the class.
JAMIE L'HENREUX: It doesn't discriminate based
race, sex, or income.
SPEAKER 1: It doesn't matter where you are in the world.
You can access the content.

They've never had access to this kind of material before.
SPEAKER 3: My students are going to have access to materials from
institutions everywhere.
SPEAKER 4: A variety of institutions that otherwise they would not

JAMIE L'HENREUX: I think the edX platform is going to
revolutionize education.
ANANT AGARWAL: Now we want to go to a new type of learner, the community
college student, and try to transform their educational experience.
JOHN O'DONNELL: I consider edX a revolution in both the delivery of
course content and facilitation of learning and mastery.
MARY FIFIELD: Bunker Hill Community College currently has 4,000 students
enrolled in online courses.
The partnership will enable us to offer a new course in a dynamic and
interactive way.
JOHN O'DONNELL: Our college, our faculty, staff, and students will have
access to the best in online education with world-class universities.
MARY FIFIELD: This will enable more students to be successful, make them
want to come to class, make them want to turn on their computers, and
ultimately help them be successful in graduating.
ANANT AGARWAL: Through online learning students will change their lives, they
will change the communities, and they will change the world.
