It all started soon after I got home. I play Minecraft every afternoon and I have to admit,
I`m no noob at the game. I started up my computer and waited for it to load. I opened up the
Minecraft Launcher and it asked, "Would you like to update?". I clicked yes, it downloaded
and started up. On the bottom left corner of the Menu it said Minecraft 1.9. I was a
little surprised because I had heard nothing about an update and when I do, I follow all
the snapshots they release until the big day. I wasn`t too worried, in fact I was a little
exited. I opened up my single player world I started last night and saw no immediate
changes. I had a small spruce wood house in a snow biome that I decorated nicely with
flower pots, item frames, exedra. But it was not looking normal. I noticed that my flowers
had died and the structure was just a bit broken. I was a little worried but also fascinated
by the new look. I rebuilt the imperfections. After a few minutes my frame rate dropped
drastically. I pressed escape and checked all my settings, which were fine and I tried
to continue. After another half minute or so the game crashed and said it had run out
of memory. I was a bit startled mainly because I upgraded my computers ram to 16 gigabytes
only a few weeks ago. It must be a game defect, I remember thinking to myself. As you may
have expected I started up the Launcher, but it said "Would you like to update?". I clicked
"Yes," I thought maybe my dot-minecraft files were corrupt or something. This time the download
took allot longer. When it finished and started up, the bottom left corner of the menu said
1.9.1. I was curious. There was no .1 before. Why would it change like that? Maybe I miss-read
it before. I logged back into my single player world to see my house was in even worse condition.
There was almost no roof left and one of the walls was destroyed. I looked around and noticed
everything was a bit different. The grass was a little off colour, same for the leaves.
I knew this was possible by just changing the biome textures. A pig walked up to me
and it seemed... It seemed wrong. It looked almost lifeless. Pale. As did everything else.
Everything. Like the world was dying. All going sick and brown and. I just. I don`t
understand why they, why they would. I accepted the changes and repaired my house again. I
started to think that java might be bugging. I wasn`t really sure, to be honest I`m no
expert. I pressed escape and checked that all my hardware was running properly and that
java was up to date. While I was busy opening all my hardware management software, I started
to hear a white noise. Not enough to mean anything, but enough to be, well, annoying.
I turned my headphones onto maximum trying to make out the noise when a Huge blast of
a scream exploded out of my headphones. It was like nothing I had ever heard before and
there was now a slight ring in my ears. It was enough to make me spring my hands of the
keyboards and jump out of my chair... This. This is where I can`t come up with explanations.
I minimized my management software to find Minecraft had run out of memory again. I was
not sure whether this was a horrible virus or. or whether it was all a game or joke of
some sort. It could of been one of my siblings. They might of set me up. They might have caused
this. I shutdown the computer and didn`t play again that night. The next day I kept asking
myself on how that could of happened and decided that ill try to take screenshots or anything
stange... When I got home I hesitated to turn my computer back on, but curiosity got the
better of me. I opened Minecraft launcher and started up the game. It said "Would you
like to update?" I clicked "Yes," and it started up. I got to the menu and in the bottom left
corner, sure enough it said 1.9.2. I felt like deleting that world, but it meant something
to me. Plus I was curious to see what would be next. I loaded up my world again but it
took a while, about 20 maybe 30 seconds. Which is unusual because I've already loaded the
chunks before. But. When I did get in. My house was no-where to be seen. And. This is
not my world as I remember it. There was a huge cave where I think my house should of
been. Something gave me an urge to go in. I. I Walked in and. I swear I felt like part
of a setup. Someone is going to come and tell me it's all a joke. A Hoax. A Fake. I saw
something I knew was not in the code. This might sound a little weird but I don't blame
you for not believing me. I saw my friend. His user. Jesteri47. He. His skin. I knew
this wasn`t him but his name tag read correctly. I quickly took a screenshot for proof of my
sanity. It's really hard to describe it. His eyes were horrible but that's not worried
me. His model was disfigured badly and there was what seemed to be blood oozing from his
mouth and hands. He stood very still. I just sat there looking at him for about a minute.
I put my hands back on the keyboard and took a step back. He stood still. I turned around
and sprinted for what I thought was the exit. I turned around to see if he was standing
there... He was no-where to be seen. My heart dropped. He. It. Must be somewhere. I just
kept running through the tunnel when I realised I was only about 20 or 30 blocks into the
cave when I found. It. I must have gone the wrong way. Something made me want to turn
back. I stopped running and turned around. I could hear the white noise again. I waited...
I could hear. Footsteps. They were distant. They were getting louder. I started to get
worried. I think they were coming towards me. I started running back through in the
direction I thought was safe. My Hunger was getting low and the footsteps were very loud
as if they were right behind me. My frame rate dropped. I kept running. I thought I
could make it, when the window closed and. Minecraft had run out of memory. I started
up the launcher and it said. "Would you like to update?"
