this is perhaps the most amazing science toy you can ever make. you will require 4 ring
magnets, a pencil, rubber and lots of odd things. first take a piece of rubber and poke
three sticks in it to make a equilateral triangle which should be 4cms from the edge. apply
glue to the sticks to secure them tightly to the rubber. then apply glue in the middle
of the rubber and take a coin and stick it in the center of the rubber base. then take
a thick card sheet with a hole in the middle and with three tiny holes and weave the sticks
in. now take four ring magnets and place them so that all the magnets repel the center magnet.
the three magnets on the periphery. take glue apply them on the sticks. then pick the three
magnets on the periphery and slowly put them on to the sticks. do not up turn the magnets.
they should remain in the same orientation throughout. let the assembly dry for a little
while so that the magnets are fixed. then take a pencil and weave the last magnet into
it. take a paper strip and apply glue and wrap like a spiral all over the pencil. now
place the pencil point on the coin. adjust the magnets on the pencil, lower it or raise
it and give pencil a spin to make it run freely. its like a friction free bearing. finally
take a propeller with a little fans. poke a pin and push this pin in the rubber at the
end of the pencil. place this assembly under a fan and you will be surprised that this
pencil keeps spinning eternally. it looks like a perpetual motion machine. you can spin
for a life.
