The very, very successful restaurateur who always
famously built the most exquisitely beautiful
restaurants in the world
You're now going back to doing art
I painted, that was in the 50s and 60s,
then I fell asleep for 50 years,
then I woke all frozen for 50 years
And so I absolutely left it behind
But my restaurants had a drive
and my timing just happened to be accidentally
fortunate enough to be in the 60s.
Swinging London, and then later,
a few years later, I opened in New York,
and again, was very lucky
It was epicenter of all the arts,
where Andy Warhol led the way
Chinese food was in the lowest of the food chain
And I wanted the world to respect it
And I wanted the world to realize how great Chinese food is
That was my mission
In some small way I have fulfilled that
It's a full circle, and it's a very satisfying ending
I don't want to say ending,
it's a very satisfying beginning
It's the beginning of something new
And I'm really, really grateful and excited
