A historical memory association as ours has to coordinate
a multidisciplinary team,
which has to take part in all the works,
not only from the exhumation,
but research, localization, and exhumation,
as well as in the subsequent work
of identification of the remains, burial, etc.
The work is complex from beginning to end,
since you will have to coordinate a lot of specialists.
On the one hand are anthropologists, archaeologists, historians.
From the point of view of the organization and how we want
to reach the bottom of the issue,
we have to put up such trivial issues,
as there is an accountant in the exhumation controlling the expenses,
since we are depending on subsidies in most of the cases.
We also need lawyers to go to court,
although we know that the Judges in the Spanish State
are not intervening in the graves issues,
but they are needed to submit the relevant writings,
ask for authorizations, etc.
It is necessary even what we call technician, mechanic and electrician,
because we need people, in a certain moment,
they pitching a tent or even if we need lighting
because we have to work late at night,
they install a lighting system, etc.
In fact, you have to agree to dozens of people.
And then we also have the political part of the item.
Since one of the key issues is to disclose
what it is doing and to announce
what it is realized and also what happened to that grave was there,
we must hold meetings with the institutions in the area,
with the social organizations in the area, with the relatives, etc.
So you need activist people of the proper organization,
they hold the meetings with the relatives,
they speak with family members, psychologists.
Thus the work of the association is complex
because it has to coordinate this group.
And not only coordinate but try that at the end of this coordination,
a book, a video is produced where we can explain what happened there.
Since the State does not do it,
at least the associations can make it.
