crashing an uncrashable drone! Hey, what's going on, gu-ah the sun's in my eyes but I'm
wearing sunglasses so I can hide it. I cough up a lung, I cough up a lung every video we
shoot. Hey, what's going on, guys? Keaton here so, I got the brand new DJI Phantom 4
and what's really sweet about this drone versus some of the others out there is this one claims
it can avoid all obstacles at least when you're flying it from the front so we're going to
put that to the test and I might even fly it in to myself so let's check it out. Got
the Phantom 4 on tells us we're in a restricted area. No no no. Time to fly. So my previous
experiences with drones, it-they haven't been really good. I've crashed two drones, wrecked
two drones. One drone's in Lake Michigan and the other one, we're not gonna talk about
the other one. Just rest in peace. So basically, the big thing on the Phantom 4 this year is
this Flight Avoidance feature. There are two cameras on the front that are supposed to
detect any object in front of you so you shouldn't wreck your drone like I've done in the past
years and we're gonna put that to the test. For our first test we're going to try to fly
it into a tree. We're in the Regular Mode so obstacle avoidance is on. It's not on in
Sport Mode which obviously makes sense 'cause Sports Mode is for the crazier things so let's
fly this into the tree, see if we can do it. I'm going full force here. And I don't know
if you can hear that but it's not letting me fly it into the tree. I can back up. It
just pulls back and you can hear it's saying, "No, no, no, I'm not flying into this tree."
Now we're going to make it a little tougher to decipher. We're going to fly it into the
branches. Nope, not letting me fly into the branches. How 'bout now? Nope, I'm trying
to sway it. Yeah, it's not letting me fly it into the branches at all. The Phantom 4
avoided a single tree pretty well. We're going to try to crash it into this tripod right
here and see if it can detect such a small object. Oh! We just crashed the-we just crashed
the drone. We-what is it doing? We just took out the drone. So the DJI Phantom 4 crashed.
It was right at the tripod. For the most part did a good job. Just when we were circling
back it hit it. So when we just crashed it was in Regular Mode. GPS right there, it's
giving me a warning saying 'Motor Obstructed'. I hope we can still fly this thing. It really
sucks that we have to do this but the tripod is an obstacle, did not avoid it. Alright,
alright, Tiger, round two, round two. Now Matt's gonna try to fly the Phantom 4 into
my body. Let's hope it avoids this obstacle. Oh my God. Stop. So the Phantom 4's avoided
most obstacles that we threw at it. It avoided the tree, it avoided me, thank God, didn't
necessarily avoid the tripod, but one thing that I haven't seen is can it avoid moving
obstacles? This is what you're supposed to use to protect your drone, we're doing the
opposite. Alright, final test. Alright, final test. Holy crap. Wow, she's on the ground.
On the first attempt I hit the drone, it spun it off but it kept flying. ♫ I didn't mean
to hurt you ♫ I'm sorry that- ♫ So in the end the Phantom 4, it avoids most obstacles.
It's the best drone I've ever seen. Honestly, I won't be losing more drones to lakes anymore
but the thing is it can't really find thin objects like the tripod right there or just
objects that are a little bit harder to see and it can definitely not stop moving objects.
Just look at our drone, this thing's probably irreparable. So, that's pretty much it for
this video. If you guys enjoyed it drop a Like on it. Go ahead and get Subscribed if
you're new around here and check out Julian's vlog. He did an entire behind-the-scenes,
that's linked below. I'll see you guys soon, peace.
