Financials 9.2 increases your productivity by enabling you to configure your application based on your processes and practices.
Use the portal, called the Interaction Hub, to define business processes and provide a simple single application page to manage an
administrator’s or manager’s day-to-day activities in the new WorkCenter framework.
The Interaction Hub, an enterprise-wide feature, provides unified navigation, bringing in remote application pages and pagelets making the
navigation between applications seamless for your users.
The unified navigation feature is completely configuration driven and a guided process makes setup easy. Your users—employees,
managers, customers, and suppliers—have access to a variety of tools, analytics, and transactions at their fingertips—no need to
navigate through the traditional menu structure again.
The Interaction Hub enables your organization to apply its corporate branding to key business processes, which can be valuable in
establishing your organization’s image as an industry leader.
Branding enables you to apply themes to portals, portal sites, and collaborative workspaces for different sets of users. Your
users are delivered a rich, flexible, and modern web-site-based experience that is productive, engaging, and intuitive.
Using the PeopleSoft Interaction Hub, you can create a multi-application system that brings together content from PeopleSoft Financials,
Supply Chain Management, Human Capital Management, and other PeopleSoft applications.
PeopleSoft Global Search offers users a more efficient way to find the right information quickly when searching for content, business objects,
and business processes within a PeopleSoft application.
For your users, this provides the ability to easily access information, data, and transactions throughout PeopleSoft systems. A search
experience similar to a commercial search engine provides you with a familiar and intuitive look and feel.
You’re able to search for and further refine your results to quickly pinpoint the information you need globally across applications.
Taking action on the search results can be done in one click, enabling business processes to begin directly from the search results without
requiring menu navigation.
Simple navigation for supporting business processes is a focus for Financials 9.2, reducing costs and improving productivity. The Supplier
Onboarding solution is an example of our configurable guided navigation process that removes the manual and error prone activity of
onboarding suppliers. This is a new common capability that is available to all customers that have payables or any of the
procure-to-pay products.
The Welcome page lets you make information on the page relevant to your organization. Our new capabilities enable your administrators to
configure the text and embedded graphics, helping to promote the image of the organization.
Lead your users through the steps in your configurable business processes in an easy and intuitive way using guided navigation.
You can make some steps mandatory, some optional, or create sub-steps as needed. You define the number of steps, the order,
and what you want contained in them.
You can also link to external URLs or other systems if that’s part of your organization’s process, thereby eliminating the need for your
end users to navigate out of the process to get information that may be necessary to the completion of the transaction at hand.
Configurability continues with WorkCenters and Dashboards for Billing, Accounts Receivable, Contracts, Grants, Staffing, Project Costing,
Payables, General Ledger, and more. These role-based pages simplify how you access information and focus your efforts
on your daily tasks—redefining how you get work done.
For example, the Accounts Payable WorkCenter provides all the information accounts payable users need
with a personalized workload of tasks.
With WorkCenters, you’ll save time with role-based configurations that focus your efforts on your daily tasks
no matter what pillar or product you’re using.
Easily personalize WorkCenters, tailoring information by adding or removing Alerts, Links, Queries, or Reports and Processes
specific to your job.
And the Financials WorkCenters and Dashboards contain Actionable Operational Analytics—or Pivot Grids--enabling you to
analyze rich information from your source system and provide decision support capabilities so users can take action right on the page.
These analytics are created with PeopleTools Pivot Grid technology, which is configurable and embedded within your business processes.
Combined, Financials and Supply Chain Management 9.2 deliver more than 30 pivot grids in Dashboards and WorkCenters.
These interactive analytical grids and charts enable you to slice and filter data (all based on security and access rights)—showing you what
you want to see and how you want to see it.
Chart Options enable you to specify the selection criteria, the x and y axis, the chart type, and the name of the chart.
This specific selection capability is just one feature available with pivot grids that enables you to filter operational data into precise,
custom views that provide meaningful insight or patterns that are often overlooked with pre-defined reports.
And you can easily switch between chart types—tailoring your actionable analytics to address your specific business needs.
PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 continues our investment with comprehensive capabilities that support our customers across industries. The
Cash Forecasting feature gives Cash managers an accurate and complete, real time Cash Position in a single worksheet with multiple
dimensions that are tuned to meet your corporate needs.
Using inbound and outbound cash flows from across the enterprise, this feature provides a dynamic and readable presentation of your
company’s cash. You can create worksheets that use data from all sources in your organization to increase the accuracy of your
cash position forecasting.
Enhanced capabilities continue with eBill Payment’s intuitive dashboard that enables you to bill your customers online and have them pay
directly, reducing operational costs and the days sales are outstanding.
And you’ll increase your customers’ flexibility with the ChartField Request functionality. Customers are different by industry and within
industry and each one has their own need for requests for chart of account values. ChartField Request enables customers to configure the
attributes needed and include additional data for justification, comments, and questions. Requests are submitted for approval,
then the values are updated.
Use Embedded Help within the application to provide guidance to your users as they navigate through the page. The message catalog
contains the help text, so you can configure the content without customizing your application.
To help you find information easily, our newly revised online help solution, with Business Process Maps and Business Process Map
navigation, makes it easy to navigate to and view page level documentation when you need it.
PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 increases your flexibility with mobile solutions, providing today’s mobile workforce with real-time access to
critical business information. For example, Mobile Approvals delivers constant access to the approval processes and analytics
through your desktop, smart phone, or tablet device.
Oracle continues to deliver a superior ownership experience by offering PeopleSoft customers a flexible patching process that enables you to
identify, understand, and selectively apply maintenance updates according to your requirements and your schedule.
It’s important to note that this patching process is currently in use only with PeopleSoft 9.2 applications.
PeopleSoft Update Manager provides the tools you need to reduce the time, effort, and cost involved with PeopleSoft application
maintenance. PeopleSoft delivers, on a regular schedule, the most current PeopleSoft applications code and objects in a
PeopleSoft Image on an Oracle Virtual Machine.
PeopleSoft Update Manager allows you to select what you want to patch within your environment, even if your environment isn’t
up-to-date on maintenance. The Update Manager works together with familiar tools like Change Assistant and Change Packager to help
you manage the entire packaging process.
With PeopleSoft Update Manager, select a single fix and have the system automatically find the prerequisites that go with that fix.
And, you can get current on some or all fixes by having the system generate a custom change
package that suits the current state of your environment.
