Hello, my name is Staff Sergeant Montgomery with United States Marine Core Recruiting
office in West Valley City, Utah. Today we're talking about how to become a pilot in the
Marine Core. First and foremost you must possess a four year degree. You then must be able
to pass an eye exam and have vision no worse than 20/40. You cannot have had any type of
eye surgery, to include Lasik. PRK surgery is waiverable. If a candidate passes these
requirements. They then take the written air test. You must pass the written air test.
Which for the Marines, the standard is much higher than any of the other Armed forces.
That's how the Marines are the only of the Armed forces who can guarantee a spot in the
aviation program. Once all those requirements have been met. You would then be required
to take a flight physical. Which takes place in Pensacola, Florida. Now if you have any
further questions, please give me a call at 801-967-9815. Or get on our website www.marines.com/.
