Hey, Guys I'm Zadi and this
yes THIS is Epic Fu.
We are finally back with a new season of shows!
A lot of people are wondering where we've been.
Well for one thing, because our glamorous new media lifestyle we've been in and out
of rehab.
And by rehab I mean the unemployment office.
I kid, of course. New media is a great place to make a living, assuming you don't require
food, shelter, health care, or pride.
Jokes.
No, but we truly have the best friends and the most amazing fans. Like just the other
day I was feeling really down so I went on YouTube to read some of the comments to cheer
myself up.
Always. Works.
Franny2Step even went out of her way to remind me that I'm just a dumb retard who will die
like everyone else.
It's that kind of stuff that keeps me grounded.
But at least our fans don't have to stand in the rain over a time slot like these loyal
fans.
In rallies organized on Facebook, Conan O'Brien supporters in Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles,
and New York gathered to show their support for CoCo.
In case you've been trapped under something heavy, NBC wanted to move the Tonight Show
to 12:05 and put Jay Leno back at 11:30.
Against the advice of his lawyers, Conan issued a public statement opposing the move.
People are supporting Conan because in this day and age giant companies get away with
pushing us around ALL the time. To see someone take a stand and say NO inspired a lot of
us.
That took some balls.
Large huevos.
On Monday our old friends at Revision3, a digital network, posted a public offer to
Conan O'Brien to create his own online late night talk show.
Is it really so crazy?
Scheduled programming is entering its final years.
Conan would forever be known as a superstar who brought web shows to the tipping point.
>> Conan: [applause] That is an appealing proposition.
Sure, it's not TV money right now, but how about pioneering an industry that can bring
balance to media instead? What do you say, Conan?
You've DONE the TV thing, how about now you call the shots?
Plus, you'd gain the *** adoration of clammy-handed, socially awkward new media
content creators across the globe. Ooh.
Enough late night fights! How about some film fights?
Over at filmfights.com, Justin Johnson and his team have created a site for filmmakers
to mach their films against each other all in the name of getting the audience involved
and getting the best feedback to filmmakers.
This site has been around since 2003, but they just relaunched and it looks awesome.
You ever tried to recreate a moment from your memories on film?
Check out this video project by artist Elliot Malkin. He reconstructed some of his family
home movies by split-screening the original and a re-creation 30 years later.
I love seeing a new twist on nostalgia; how we can recreate our memories frame by frame.
And if you're like us and the Internet has shortened your attention span to undermedicated
ADHD levels, thank goodness for 5 Second Films.
Booyakasha!
What's wrong with you?
EVERYTHING.
Yep, that was the whole film. Roll another.
Damn you deal-breaker Jones!
That wasn't part of the deal!
It's a little hit or miss, but you definitely won't get bored.
And lately I've seen a couple of crazy video illusions circulating around.
Youtuber "brusspup" has made a series of videos that are pretty impressive when you consider
the amount of planning that went into them.
I think this
was the best response.
We're in a time where we're getting very close to the idea of the one-person film studio.
Jorge Seva from Spain, aka Alex Roman, spent several years creating this short film that
has caught fire recently.
Unbelievably, it was created entirely with computer graphics. He even did the sound design
for the piece.
If you haven't seen this thing, go watch it.
It's beautiful.
Alright that'll do it for today. This season we're making the shows shorter and more focused,
but there's two of them every week.
Check out Music Mondays and Film Thursdays.
In the next couple of weeks we'll be rolling out the Epic Fu blog network
with daily culture content and lots of international flavor.
As always we want your faces and ideas in the show. So, go to MIX, participate, and
give us feedback.
We'll leave you with this clip from the short film Zombie Zombie from France.
It's an homage to John Carpenter's The Thing.
See you on epicfu.com.
NBC has moved the Zadi snaps to a different time slot.
Jokes!
