This video will demonstrate how to import contacts from a comma separated values (CSV) file
It will allow you to view your contacts in the UGA webmail interface and in Outlook
Before continuing with this tutorial, you must configure your account in Office 2007 to use Exchange
In Outlook go to File > Import and Export to open the Import Export Wizard
Choose "Import from another Program" and then click "Next"
Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click "Next" once again
Click on the "Browse" button to bring up the file selection dialogue
Find the contacts file, click on it to highlight it and then click "OK"
If you already have contacts and are worried about duplicate entries, select "do not import duplicate items"
press "Next" to continue
Find the folder called "Contacts" underneath your UGAMail Mailbox
Highlight it, and then click "Next"
Since Outlook and other mail programs have different labels for contacts
You will need to manually match them so the correct information appears in the correct fields
Click on "Map Custom Fields" to begin this process
In the left column are the labels for fields in your CSV file
And on the right, the equivalent fields in Outlook
You'll need to manually match them wherever the labels differ.
As you can see, Outlook has already matched some of the fields correctly
such as the First Name and Last Name fields
However, you'll notice that Thunderbird referrs to work-related contact information as "Business"
and Outlook was unable to automatically match this information
We'll expand "Business" in the left column, find the matching field in the right column
Then manually drag the work address to Business street
Continue to do this for all labels that have not been matched properly
You only need to perform matches for information you know exists
For examply, if none of your contacts have websites or home address information
You are not required to match the labels for these fields
This may take a while. Please refer to the chart on the documentation page if you require assistance matching fields
Once you are done, click "OK" and then "Finish"
Once Outlook has finished importing, your contacts should appear in both Outlook
and through the UGAMail website after a few minutes
