Just get published. You just want to see your work in a journal, having gone through a peer
review process, having got editorial approval and it’ s out there for either people to
ignore or react to in some way. Only later will you start to worry about exactly where
it is you are publishing. But to begin with you have got to learn the process. The process
isn’t science it’s a social process, it’s full of human beings desperately trying to
make the right decisions, but constantly failing to make those decisions. It’s only when
you realise that getting published is a human process, a social process, that you can begin
to understand what the great things are about it and also what its weaknesses are. But to
begin with, just get into print.
