One of the other important things to do for kittens is to introduce them to new things,
novel stimuli that they might not see in their environment with their mom. In the litter
you are probably keeping the cat and kittens in a nice warm place with a blanket, maybe
a litter box and some food and water and not much else. So taking the kittens out and showing
them new things is very important so they don't become fearful as they get older. And
you can start as young as two weeks old doing this. So one of the things that you can do
is to comb them, brush them, get them used to the sensation of being brushed and touched
with a foreign object other than a human hand. You also want to offer them little toys like
this little, little stuffy that he can look at and touch and feel the texture of. Also
there is little squeaky toys that you want to stimulate them with and show them. And
little things like this little fuzz ball, little fuzzy cat toy that they can look at.
So it's sort of like when you are introducing an infant baby to new textures and smells
and sounds that they can get used to in their environment so that they're not so frightened
of new things as they age.
