Grandparent University is part of our legacy program with the Association. It's a way of getting legacies, who are children
of parents or grandparents that are members of the Association, to get involved with the university at a very young age.
One of our target goals of the legacy program is to involve kids from birth all the way up to college.
So Grandparent University is for the ages of 7 to 14 for legacies and they come on campus and are taught by real faculty members here at OSU
and they major in a certain course and graduate on Friday. Grandparent University started about seven years ago.
We started with one session. We had about 80 participants that first year and it has now grown. We are having
two sessions in the summer with over
300 people here on campus. So we have represented 12 different states this year alone. It seems to be a great
place for grandparents
to meet their legacies half way. So we have legacies come from one state and grandparents come from another and we all
join here in Stillwater in orange country.
I think it's the camaraderie of the whole family of OSU, the grandparents, the legacies and the staff. I look forward
to it as much as he does. We did architecture and
not only the grandparent but the grandchild had to design a building
I have Petesburg Elementary School. All windows, all green and having taught for many years parking that's covered.
My grandparents live in Duncan so I don't get to spend much time with them so it's fun to interact with them here.
I liked the tailgate and then this year on June 10th we went to Gallagher-Iba so that was fun.
