In order to first be considered for financial aid,
you must be admitted to California State University, Northridge.
To determine if you are eligible to receive Financial Aid, you must first fill out the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid or simply the FAFSA.
The form can be found at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available every year on January
2nd.
You must apply early to help determine how you will pay for school before it
begins.
Your Aid eligibility is determined using federal standardized calculations
based on your previous year's income.
To verify this income, you must file or update your FAFSA by using the
IRS data retrieval tool
or request a transcript directly from the IRS.
Please keep in mind that an extension from the IRS does not waive the tax
return requirement
for completing the FAFSA form.
Once you have completed the FAFSA form
and the verification process, if required, a financial aid award
notification letter will be sent to your CSUN Gmail account.
The award notification letter informs financial aid applicants of the various types and
amounts of aid offered,
as well as the responsibilities and conditions of each award.
Financial aid covers the basic costs of education including tuition and living
expenses.
It is designed to assist you in meeting standard university costs.
For more specific aid information please review your award details in the myNorthridge
portal by clicking in to the SOLAR student center.
