this is a terrible story police shot a 20-year-old
Air Force airman named Michael Davidson
as he lay on the ground following a minor traffic accident along Interstate
85 in Alabama according to his family
he was traveling from Texas to see more Johnson Air Force Base near Goldsboro
North Carolina
in a 2004 GMC Envoy when he changed lanes and he hit a semi-truck
okay and he can hit the truck with his driver side mirror
minor accident according to police they stop
%uh he Michael Davidson gets out of his SUV to exchange information with the
truck driver
and as he's doing this police show up
and according to his dad he said he didn't get that far when he was walking
to the semi truck
he heard something but couldn't tell what it was lotta noise he could see the
reflection of police lights off in the truck
then he did what I told them to do I told my boys if you see police lights
you stop put your hands up and turn
around the elder Davidson said that his son held up his arms holding
his wallet in one hand the next thing I know says Michael Davidson I was on the
ground that's when they shot me I didn't realize he shot me
I didn't know what happened it was so fast they couldn't have been there three
or four seconds when I was shot
Michael Davidson goes on to say that police immediately searched
his vehicle even before receiving medical assistance
after being shot the officer was yelling at Michael asking where the other person
was according to his father
Michael was traveling alone and had no idea who this other person
was police say that emergency medical personnel responded quickly
his son Billy Johnson says that his son nearly bled to death
suffered severe injuries to his stomach and colon
and may never fully recover from his wounds and is most likely
going to be out above the air force officer Philip Hancock is the
officer-involved
seven-year veteran of the police department he's been placed on
administrative leave during the investigation
and it took 16 hours after the shooting took place
for Michael davidson's father Billy Davis into even be
notified Billy Davidson said he feels that police
are trying to portray his son is a criminal rather than as a recent
graduate with high grades from Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls
Texas just a note Michael Davidson
at least appears to be white so this is apparently not
another incident in this white police
on black victim racism which wouldn't be a crazy place for your mind to go given
a location above this incident did the police officer fear for his life for
something like that I think in a lot of situations like this that
Yap they are fearing for her life I think for some reason a lot of police
officers have just been brainwashed into thinking that that everyone is an enemy
everyone's got a gun
and you know what is that crazy to think when no
when with what we see in the news every day it's a compounding problem right so
many people have guns
that it doesn't it doesn't sound crazy for police to be afraid of people having
guns
at the same time we have this entire
police state type situation with militarization of our police forces
and a escalation UHV
these various restraint and compliance techniques
which have led independently the
a high rate of gun ownership in this country to police being increasingly
militarized and increasingly aggressive as we talk about week after week after
week
both situations are only going to make the other worse right the more
the police are militarized and aggressive the more people will want to
have guns
and the more people own guns the more police will be afraid
%uh anybody they encounter having a gun lovely situation we're developing here
at the situation it that doesn't get any better ever
unless you take guns away from both people and police
and I don't see that happening like that video please subscribe click the button
