Greetings from ARTstor!
In this tutorial we will learn about the various settings that are available to customize your ARTstor user profile.
Within your profile, you are able to edit your name, password, and viewing options within the Digital Library.
If you are an instructor, you are also able to verify or obtain your "Instructor privileges,"
which give you increased flexibility when managing folders and image groups.
Let's get started!
Once you’ve logged into your ARTstor user account, you can access your profile by clicking on the "Edit my profile" link in the welcome box,
or by clicking on "Tools" > "My Profile" in the navigation bar.
In the "My Profile" tab, you are able to add or edit your name, as well as the email address associated with your user account.
Be sure to save any changes you make as you edit your profile.
In the next tab, you are able to change the password associated with your account.
In the "Display Options" tab, you are able to customize the way in which content is displayed to you throughout the Digital Library.
The first option allows you to automatically show or hide the results filter when arriving at search results.
The results filter is a convenient way to narrow your search results by classification, geography, and date.
The next two options allow you to customize the way you view multiple images.
You may view images as either "Small" or "Large thumbnails,"
and you may choose to view 24, 48, or 72 images per page.
The following option allows you to determine the enlarged size of an image when you double-click on it.
You may choose to have it automatically enlarge to half screen or full screen.
And the last option in this tab allows you to decide when your session will automatically end after a period of inactivity.
Your options are: 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
If you are an instructor, the last tab allows you to confirm or obtain "Instructor privileges."
Instructor privileges allow you to organize image groups into multiple folders that you can share with your students or your entire institution.
Instructor privileges also allow you to build personal collections.
If you have instructor privileges, you will find a confirmation message in this tab.
If you do not, you will find the name and contact information for your local administrator,
who can provide you with the authorization code and password needed to obtain instructor privileges.
Customizing your user profile ensures that your experience in the Digital Library will always be tailored to your personal preferences.
Thanks for joining us today!
