(Illustrator)
Add a background.
Adjust size and position.
Move underneath the tulips.
Colour the tulips white.
Save the Illustrator document and open it in Photoshop.
Make the rasterized image bigger in size.
(Image reducing isn't very smooth here.)
Reduce to background layer.
Set image-size to 256x256 pixel.
Open a structure texture you might want to work into your pattern.
Copy and paste it into the rasterized vector graphic.
Set layer mode to multiply.
Merge down to background layer.
Open a new document (256x256px) where you can play with colours.
This will show you as well how the masks work and...
...if you might need to adjust them.
Add as much Fill Colour layers to your document as needed.
And rename them to the channel they represent.
Copy the structure texture.
And paste it into the first Fill Colour mask (Red).
Copy the edited rasterized vector graphic.
And paste it into the second Fill Colour maks (Green).
Experiment and adjust the colours as you like.
Looks ok.
Create a new document. This is going to be the final pattern image.
Change to the channels tab.
Select the Red channel.
Copy the structure texture.
And paste it into the Red channel.
Select the Green channel.
Copy the edited rasterized vector image.
And paste it into the Green channel.
Blue channel is filled black because it's not needed for this pattern.
Go to 'Save as...' and chose D3D/DDS (*.DDS) as file format (Requires DDS Plugin!).
DDS dialog pops up.
Chose '8.8.8.8 ARGB 32 bpp | unsigned' as file format.
Click Save.
Change to TS3 Workshop Pattern Plugin.
Open the .dds document by clicking on the folder icon.
Enable the channels you want to use.
Background is already correct colour (as we defined in our colour document.)
Copy/paste the Hex colour value from the first Colour Fill layer.
And do the same with the second Colour Fill layer.
Add a Title and a Description to your pattern.
And choose the right Category and Surface Type.
(Show as tiled.)
Click Export and save your Sims3Pack to your computer.
(Takes longer because of video capturing software.)
