Brasília is a product of human genius.
Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer have turned the capital of Brasilia into a landmark of the modern world
respectively using simple strokes and wide spaces
or surprising and graceful curves in their architectural masterpieces.
What they did not know is that the strength of their creations would end up inspiring new art expressions.
Amidst the precise, cold and bureaucratic city,
Hosana Bezerra discovered the color within these geometrically shaped monuments
designed by these two geniuses of architecture and urban planning.
Hosana Bezerra is a humble person,
hard worker and from the Recife in the northeast of Brazil.
He moved to Brasília seeking a better life
and started as a car washer at the Parlament’s parking lot.
Today, Hosana's paintings have been attracting the attention of the media and specialists.
His work takes advantage of the magic lines and curves of Lucio and Oscar.
He uses flat, vivid colors
and crisp lines to tease the imagination of his observers,
allowing people to find meanings of natural and man-made monuments within them.
This is all part of a dream he had while growing up.
The dream of painting life with strong colors.
Hosana paints with such pleasure
that delights the eyes of those who see his paintings.
He paints to prove that harmony exists within that artistic expression.
Hosana is an intuitive artist.
He had little schooling,
never having anyone to guide him by the hand,
nor to show him the mysteries of mixing paints
and revealing the secrets of the color.
His work is a product of intuition and good taste,
skills that he only discovered he had
when he started drawing on the canvas,
using the light, lines and shapes of the real world as inspiration.
Furthermore, Hosana Bezzera is an artist who,
through his work and journey from a car washer to a successful painter,
represents the colorful and cheerful country of Brazil
country that can offer people new opportunities
if they just believe in themselves.
Perhaps in this moment,
exactly now,
somebody is washing the door of a car
and drawing a colorful and cheerful panel of a country devoted to happiness.
Hosana Brazil!
